Geeseman :o:blush:Steve strikes again.First he introduces the supposed coming of a twin turbo BOSS V8. Then he switches to give his best friends over at APS a plug. It is interesting you have NOT commented on the point about the close proximity to the steering gear which I raised. To me this is a more important item to be debating, rather than pedantics about engine bay vs general heat sinks.Firstly, you mentioned that heat is a problem. I posted that aps say it isn’t with their new ls1 TT system. Nuff said. I didn’t comment on the steering gear because I haven’t seen the car’s setup or driven it. Have you?I wasn't talking abouit piping - I was referring to the distance between the exhaust manifold and turbo.Oh, but you didn’t say that. Extra piping from the intercooler can also result in lag which is why I commented. Next time be specific before jumping on responses from people who are obviously not mind readers. Two turbos doesn't equate to less lag in this type of installation which does not use sequential boosting. You really need to do some reading on the physics of turbos to better understand what you are arguing about. Thanks Dad. I don’t need to do any reading, thanks. I’ve posted info from the aps site on their own product. If you think it’s wrong discuss it with them.Again you have taken my post out of context. I was referring to the lag in this system and linking that with the lack of grunt the NA GenIIIs have below 3500RPM.According to the aps site the car has, and I quote “The acceleration from 2,000 rpm all the way to redline is just an awesome experience that only a few Twin Turbo Porsche owners have ever experienced in the past.”I don't dispute the engine can produce good numbers and the car has great times. This doesn't make it a good road car "per see". What does then? With the times it has posted it surely must be one hell of a car which bodes well for the GT and XR8 TT systems. Have you driven the TT Ls1? Please let us know all about it then…As for the Typhoon times, I believe the times published so far are a crock. Motor has apparently taken Ford's direction on what times to publish.A big assumption based on what seems like little fact. I have the mag and it doesn’t say ‘we got the figures from ford’ anywhere…Wheels recorded lower times than previous for the V8s they tested the Typhoon against and said they had difficulty getting off the line esp in the Typhoon. They said all cars had difficulty. But their rolling acceleration times clearly show the Typhoon is in a separate class to the V8s tested. On the road neither would see the Typhoon for smoke ...The motor times are consistent with the V8 ford and Expensive Daewoo in terms of them all being slower on the day, yet the Phoon was the slowest. Yes, it had better rolling acceleration times, but so does the T, and the phoon’s times are barely better than the T in terms of rolling acceleration. Likewise the 0-100 is also barely better. Here are figures from a previous issue of wheels for rolling acceleration of the T in comparison with those conducted in the phoon review.3rd / 4th / 5th / 6th80-120km/hXR6T - 3.8 / 4.9 / 7.2 / 10.4F6 - 3.8 / 4.7 / 6.6 / 9.6 GT - 4.2 / 6.0 / 7.5 / 11.4HSV - 4.0 / 5.7 / 7.5 / 12.8Speak for themselves really.First he introduces the supposed coming of a twin turbo BOSS V8. Then he switches to give his best friends over at APS a plug. Anything to start a debate, that's our SteveIt isn’t supposed; it has been talked about on this site and others and has also been listed on the aps site.As for introducing it, someone else brought up the GT in preference to the phoon (stating that it had too much lag, ha ha) and I responded on the GT being possibly up for TT mods next year.If this is a problem for you and other readers then perhaps we can adjust the forum rules to better accommodate opinionated nazi’s who don’t like to listen to others

And we all know it has all the interior/exterior goodies for the top of the range Ford's and FPV's. So what the hell are you arguing? That a TT Boss is better, IMHO and probably everyone elses here it is, comparied to a stock F6!You have to stupid to not admit the F6 is an awsome platform to work from if you go the modification line, and if not you still have a fantastic car. Is this the best new ford available in Australia? No, I still believe the XR6T is the best value performance car in Australia. Also if you have not yet driven the phoon don't make any assumptions on how the car will drive like. Don't get too excited about seeing one XR6T at night doing 13.8s 1/4 miles being representative for all XR6T. We don't know the temperature, the grip of the track, the tyres on the car, all other adjustments people make when racing. The only way to compare is same track same day. And in all tests done no matter which magazine or paper the GT is the fastest Ford in standard from. Is it the fastest in modified form most likely not. It's based on the Xr6T after all.Only the simple minded fools of this world believe that when someone says something about another product that they MUST be bashing its competitors. In case you missed it, which appears to be the case, I talked about the TT Ls1 in reference to a Twin turbo setup which is shortly to appear for the XR8 and GT BA’s, which leads us to where we are.Well said FINER9, It's just ashame there's a certain member still trying to justify spendind 10's of thousand's of dollars on his car and having a chip on his shoulder about mine's better than your's attitude instead of relizing how awesome a car the F6 really isJeff, I'll assume you are talking about me as I have posted times comparing the T to the typhoon (heaven forbid we stand back and look at reality…), but since you don't seem to have the gumption to state so exactly, I'll do you work for you.I've never bashed the typhoon at all. For a car that is based on the XR6T it would be stupid of me to do so. Your, and others’, stupid assumptions that I have done so are totally baseless and that of sad, limited minds. If you have any thoughts about another person on the forum try to evaluate them properly before suggesting they have ‘Agenda X or Y’ and posting crap saying so. Better still, post some facts to back up your assumptions because you do yourself no credit whatsoever.
