So after much delay, I can finally order my XR6T :D :D So for only a mere $26.00 per week I can trade up from the bog standard VT acclaim Wagon (company car) to the XR on a novated lease.

Here's what I'm getting

Phantom (auto)

Leather

XR Scuff plates

4 x XR mats

Alarm

Phone presenter

Premium sound

Aux Audio input

Tint

side airbags

Congratulations richdave, seems most people are going for phantom so there should be heaps of us on the road eventually.

Ihave a theory as to why there are no XR6T'S coming out of Geelong.

Expensive Daewoo comandos seized control of the FPV plant in the early hours of the morning last week taking 93 XR6T's hostage. They are negotiating with Ford while trying to come up with a strategy to counter the unprecendented demand for the XR6T. Nothing in the news as Ford have been warned they will blow up the plant if they go public.

Its just a theory.

$26.00 per week! Wish I had that much in the novated budget to get the figure down that far.

Looks like a little more coming out of my pocket but I'm sure it'll be worth it. Any word on a delivery date?

I assume that anyone ordering now will have an '03 badged car?

On the tint, does anyone have an approx figure for how much dealers charge?

Not yet but expecting Feb 03, so it should be a 03 build :D

Tint RRP is about $500 but if you haggle it will be less. A mate of mine is getting his tint for $275.00

Thanks - one more question. Any sign of this supposed price hike?

Yep, my dealer told me today that 2% effective on ALL cars delivered after Dec 31 2002. So even if you have ordered now you'll still be paying about $1000 more :angry: . I did hear that some dealers are covering the rise for some clients but that will only apply to retail I'm sure...fleet just cant get that - bummer.

Hmmmm...not happy about that at all - especially the relative silence from Ford about this. In short, I order a car 5-6 weeks after its initial release and already I'm paying more? I could understand if they said all '03 badged vehicles will incur the rise but many delivered early Jan will be '02 badged - not fair really.

That being the case, I'll just wait till Jan so I can test drive. I was willing to lose the test drive if an order this year saved me the grand but happy to hang on.
