When I saw this thread title I just knew there were going to be some smart arse "original" comments... :sleepystuff:

First animal I hit was a cat, took it to RSPCA to get it put down.

Second animal I hit was a german shepard, it died whilst the cops were getting permission to shoot it. (cat and dog hit was in my skyline)

Third animal I hit was a roo, cause about 10k damage

Fourth animal I hit was a fox, didn't end up fixing the damage (roo and fox was in my first T)

I've also been hit by a number of asians, 5 in total. They are wild and they are live so they are wild life....

I've had a fair few near misses since I moved to Canberra, avoided a sh*tload of roo's, wombats, foxes, , two deers, a cow, and a dog.

Largest to smallest:

6 roos, in various cars,

2 emu's in work utes

1 wombat in 240K

1 possum in 240K

3 ducks in work cars

1 Quoll in the T

and I don't know how many birds

as many cane toads as I can

and 1 mouse, in an XB (had to cross two lanes to get him)

My ex hit a dog in the T, :sleepystuff: little plastic bits everywhere and a dent in the door.

few years back, a mate and I were travelling back home to sydney from adelaide in his vr commodore. bout half way through the trip, we were travelling on a 3 lane wide stretch of freeway at 120 when I noticed a bird hovering at front window height 50 metres up the road. as we got closer and closer the bird continued to hover and my mate didnt seem to have noticed it. about a second before certain impact my mate who was driving at the time

a) swerved into the other lane (there was no other cars around)

b) honked the horn

c) slowed down

or d, screamed "your dead" before connecting and hurtling the bird through the air further than it has flown in its entire life.

I did feel sorry for the bird, but couldnt stop laughing for an hour at my mates lack of split-second decision making.

I just hoped for the rest of the trip that we wouldnt come across a semi coming the other way.

Moose V's Car - Moose and Car both loose

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

HOLY :w00t2:

I heard the other day that about 90% (or something like that) of people that hit mooses die!

After seeing that pic , that stat doesn't surprise me at all :glad:

My mate hit a wallaby in my old xf ute on a tip to N.S.W south coast at about 120kph, in the middle of nowhere, ripped the bumper off pushed the radiator back into the fan, had to kill the bloody wallaby with a rock, and waited on the side of the road for 16hrs for me old man to bring a new radiator up! :spoton:

Driving at night through the bush sux! :glad:

I hit an animal in the Sydney CBD a couple of years ago. Driving down the left lane at about 50kph (6 lane road) two other lanes going my direction were full of traffic and stopped. Next thing I know "Bang" as this stupid b**ch steps from my right from between a bus and a truck. Collected her just in front of my right side mirror and flung her underneath the bus. When we dragged her from under the bus I discovered she was an animal and regretted not hitting her with the grille badge instead. Apparently it was my fault she stepped into moving traffic and I should be able to anticipate her stupidity. Anyway, she limped off full of venom and I went back to check out the dent in my panel. The really funny thing was that at the traffic lights ahead was a police car (essentially the car in front of me) with the guys watching all this unfold. I didn't take her details, she didn't want mine so we both went our separate ways. I bet she was a sore as hell the next day as she had a good gimp limp when she departed the scene.

One of the biggest causes of death on the roads in finland/sweden/norway is hitting a moose..... they weigh so much and all the weight is above your bonnet height... smash into one at 100+kmh and hit its legs... the you get the body coming flying through the windscreen..... result------> instant death
