Here's the story,

I have purchased my XR6 with Lux interior pack, In the brochures it states the lux pack comes with a graphic bluelit instrument display.(A picture is also shown in the brochures).

I only got the standard instrument cluster that comes in XR's. I have been chasing it up with the dealership and also with Ford Australia(13FORD). It has bee a month now and I have still not got any answers. The dealership tried to tell me at first that the cluster did not exist. It has been frustrating me to no end as there is pictures in the brochures and now even on the ford website for the mark II.(see attached picture, on the left side.)

I was wondering if anybody has the Lux interior pack and has the Blue instrument cluster, wether they could take a photo of it and PM me the picture as I want to hit them with as much info as possible.

If I don't get an answer off Ford Australia by the end of this week I am going to be writing a complaint to the ACCC.

Cheers

Damo

XR's all get the same instrument cluster, regardless if the car is "Lux" pack equipped or not.

The only difference is where the trip computer buttons are, on the "Lux" pack, they are part of the ICC, and on all other non-lux pack XR's they are mounted on the edge of the instrument cluster.

Theoretically, the clusters do have different part numbers, only because of the trip computer buttons, but the appearance of the instruments/dials themselves is identical.

So you guys are saying that instead of the XR cluster with the dark purple numbers and the 2 white LCD screens(the ones that display K's and gear), you have Bright blue numbers and Blue lcd screens?

I included the standard XR cluster pic for comparison.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

No.

Listen carefully!

ALL BA XR Falcons have the SAME instrument dials and the SAME LCD screens!

Exactly the same as the pic you posted.

Like I am trying to say, there is NO difference in the instrument clusters REGARDLESS if you have a Lux equipped XR or not!

If that is the case, why does ford advertise a 'Graphic bluelit instrument display' where the entire picture shows BRIGHT blue instruments and screens?

I can see what your getting at MS700 but even the dealership is saying there is 2 clusters but FOMOCO is not suppling 1 to them...

Cheers anyway.

I have a Lux Pack and all the pictures you have shown are what I have and I believe what you have ... what is the problem?!?!

Is it your sale rep from the dealer telling you different?? If so wouldn't expect much from them, their product knowledge is pretty limited ... alot of Lux pack drivers now and ms700 is 100% correct the only difference is with trip computer settings and the trip button ... standard on the dash, Lux pack is part of the ICC ... BTW the dash is Blue and their is only one Blue ... you can adjust the brightness ... but still blue ... if you got a different colour then they have stuffed up...

Hope that clears things up ...

Cheers, Jason.

I can see where his concern/confusion has come from, all the press releases I read when this was first released in February mentioned that the instrument panel was the same as the Fairmont Ghia (but bluelit of course), refer to http://www.ford.com.au/inside_ford/press/V...file=foa297.htm for one example.

My understanding of this was that the two lower lcd readouts would be different, as per the Fairmont. Is this not correct?

I see 2 different photos here. The first one from the website screen capture has the Odometer LCD shown with a blue backlight display while the 2nd photo further down the thread shows a non blue backlight. I'm pretty sure mine looks like the 2nd one regardless of whether the dash is lit up or not.

However it is still too early in the morning and the brain is about as useful right now as a "head mechanic" at your local ford dealer
