In gear acceleration times... 80-120km/h

Typhoon:

3rd-3.8sec 4th- 4.7sec 5th- 6.6sec 6th- 9.6sec

GT:

3rd- 4.2sec 4th- 6.0sec 5th- 7.5sec 6th- 11.4sec

Clubsport:

3rd- 4.0sec 4th- 5.7sec 5th- 7.5sec 6th- 12.8sec

Pure Torque and so much so low is what that shows pure and simple.

3.2 seconds on the Clubie in Long gear shows that the F6 is pure torque not Kw.

I bet wheels red lined the f6 in every cog when they would be far better off making the b**ch pull.

Old habits die hard and the GT and the Clubie need to Rev hard to go hard wear as the f6 wants to take another gear early and pull.

The above results show that, but it’s a total new ball game and people need to take time to get a handle on how to make the torque work for you and not the rev’s.

Those results are way above most peoples expectations and id hate to be along side one in a HSV scrambling for another cog and some revs to try and hold my own..

Wooooooooooooooooooooop's where did he go???????????

Absolutely spot on mate. I reckon you'd never need to take the Typhoon over 4000rpm to hose almost any other standard car on the road ...

The way I look at the torque of this motor, the accelleration of the engine, read car, at above 4000rpm will be less than the accelleration from 2000rpm.

I think that those times are probably more real world performance figures, and it's important to remember that it's all relative. I'm impressed that the GT is as quick as the LS2 over the quarter, and a good driver would have the typhoon all over the pair of them. Shows that the holdens fast times rely hevily on the hard launch, and that the GT is more than a match for on road performance. Off idle from a standstill, Expensive Daewoo v8's are just crap.

According to Wheels in their November 2002 testing of the XR6T with the T5 manual transmission, and the car weighing 1732kg, the performance times were:

0-100km/hr: 6.0s

0-400m: 14.3s

I still believe next year's Auto F6 will bring quicker times as does the Auto XR6T currently. Still, what appears to be perfectly clear irrespective of what times are achieved by who and where in the F6, is that the stock F6 has been relatively "dumbed down" in the same manner that the stock XR6T has, in order to "protect" the straight-line performance-deficient Ford/FPV V8 offerings.

Safe and happy driving...Dr Z. :smilielol:

I know but when a standard T almost beats a GT in 0-100 times you'd expect the phoon with more torque to do a lot better. Perhaps not

I agree, I would. However, I can read into the results a little. My ute is deplorable off the line. Damn near impossible to launch at all quickly however, once it is rolling, anytime anywhere. Manual transmissions suck for big torque car launches. That is why I am waiting (albeit patiently :sleepystuff: ) for an auto one. :spoton:
