HSV 6 seconds? Factory released times are like 5.1.

Thick rubber from a recent drag meet killed any meaningful standing-start attempts, and our times reflect this. Getting grip of the line was impossible, and all cars turned their 'best' times with low-rev, zero wheelspin launches. However, look closely at the 80-100km/h times, where it's all about engine performance and gearing. The F6 Typhoon's weight and torque advantage combine with tighter gearing to smoke the V8's. It's decisively quicker in every gear we tested. And with good traction underneath, the Typhoon should also embarrass the V8's off the line. Regardless, it shows the trend that the phoon is slower than the GT and the HSV, which is mirrored in the times seen in motor mag.How they can say it's faster in each gear and off the mark when they say in the article the phoon has lag and the v8's throttle response is better is absurd.Even their own times contradict their statements. However, the turbo can have less throttle response, or call it lag if you like, than the V8s and still whip their butts from a rolling start through each gear. Simply because it has more torque at lower revs. The T6 does this now doesn't it? Why wouldn't the Typhoon?

Perhaps the phoon does hit 9lb early on but it must be drawn back to stock levels above 4500rpm or something for the GT to pull away so hard.
