I tried this with resistors but got limp mode in my BA.

If someone can draw a diagram showing exactly where the dummy to earth taps in and goes to etc that would be great.Maybe I was reading the initial post incorrect.

I have parts etc willing to try now if someone with more electrical knowledge can break it down for me like a wiring diagram that's labelled.I have located the two wires by finding the color with pan off and then smashing open that plastic conector to find the end of the wire,it changes color as it goes through the connector, its tricky.I bought a cd and Gregorys manual but were of no use.

So yeah, ill guinea pig if someone can knock up a wiring diagram for me that taps into the two wires I have located that needs the resistors.

Cheers.

OK,got this working to some degree. The car takes off in 2nd gear now and wont even go back to 1st if manually selected. It is shifting harder into 3rd though, only a tiny bit of slip.

Any thoughts,I know if line pressure is raised via sct or S5 is cranked to much the car will take off in 2nd gear.

What I did was find the wires at computer end and splice the wires into the resistors and then put the other side of resistors to 12v,I have no limp mode flashing and 1st will come up on display but just wont select it.No 1st hasn't blown up lol.

I have nailed it,allot of work involved and testing for that matter. It is not set up the same way as E series etc as you cant do it that way.

I got WOT into 3rd and she pulled hard.TurboTorana I wont kiss your arse as I had to do allot of other testing also to make it work....I will shake ya hand though lol.

Cheers!

Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents on an old thread. I have a BA, tried this mod due to there being an intermittent s3 solenoid or "solenoid c" fault showing up. Firstly I cant speak for earlier models but as for the BA when dummying off the s3 and s4 wires at the computer, make sure you use a 5W 27-42 ohm resistor as it needs to be able to handle some current. Secondly the other side of the resistor needs to be connected to VPWR pin 45 on ECC-B connector. NOT GROUND. And laslty, with the ba not having a T bar anymore and not using the manual shifting gate inside the box for 1, 2 , 3..... Doing this mod will make the gearbox no longer select 1st! It will just have 2,3,4. It uses the s3 and s4 some how to hold 1st gear.
