Ask yourself this.....Your sat in front of the TV, its the final of the next world cup and Australia needs 1 run with two balls to spare to become the undisputed one day cricket nation of all time (assuming they weren't already) and Gilly walks from a nick that only he is aware of..... Australia loses.

Is it really his decision to cost the Nation (his employer) the trophy that they would have deservedly claimed within the rules of the game ?  ..mmmmm

Makes you question the simplicity of honour, does it not :loc:

That is a VERY extreme case. As I said, it should be up to the individual. I don't really get what the fuss is about :loc:

mate, we dominate cricket so much its about time someone else won to make things interesting. :lol:

Seriously, I wish international cricket was more competitive, how about when we annihilated India for 346 runs in the final in South Africa last year! 346, I couldnt believe it. Absolute massacre...

I don't think anyone should walk unless given out by the umpire. As Maxx Power pointed out, another New Zealand batsman was given out to a ball that was nowhere near his bat, so in the end it all evens out.

If someone is given out incorrectly by the umpire and they stand their ground, we all know what sort of uproar there would be (not to mention the punishment the player would probably receive).

At the end of the day, the umpires are there to make the hard decisions. And the rules are in place that make the players abide by the umpires' decisions. In my opinion, if the fielding side starts getting upset about a decision not going their way, then we should all be getting upset with them for questioning the umpire's decision.

<end of rant!>

Every one of these cricketers would ahve been coached from the start to stand your ground until the umpire tells you to leave, that's what the umpire is for. I cant understand why the Australians have started doing it, as Geea mentioned some go your way and some dont, so if one goes your way take it. Gilly had no right to give McMillan a gob full, if Gilly wants to walk then that's his choice and he shouldnt try impose it onto anyone else. Gilly is a smug c*nt who's wicket keeping ability is well below an international standard, ever noticed how many balls he doesnt take cleanly.

I can't believe that chuking has been made lawful, so as to go or not go, big deal IMO. Get that Terrorist Chucker out & then we'll give the rules a going over.

Yeah I think that's a load of :spoton: too. it wont be long before they are allowed to just stand at the bowlers crease and peg it down.
