Posted 27/03/03 11:05 AM Share Posted 27/03/03 11:05 AM Yeah, I think some of these car mag writers must have arms as short as Mini Me's, got my manual XRT today and although still as stiff as a viagra junky in a brothel, finding it ok, still a bit low on the revs for takeoff, but hey a XR6 auto for 4 years and then the missus's lazer (you need arms like an orang utans to get to 1st  ) believe me this bird is sweet Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1412-gearbox/page/2/#findComment-14926 Share on other sites

I am sure that there is a direct comparison drawn to these other much more expensive cars in the performance bracket in regards to gear shift quality. Us general public would probably not notice a poor shift quality as much, if these reports hadnt been written. Definitely a crock IMO. I was a one eyed Expensive Daewoo supporter for years, untill I finally got the cash to buy a new car. One of the major reasons I chose the AU over the VU was the six speeds bad shift. The couple that I drove were just shockers. Guest ozzyjim Guests Posted 30/03/03 11:50 AM Share Posted 30/03/03 11:50 AM Thanks for the replys guy's:) my friend and I were at penrith ford today (he is going to buy an xr6 ute (not turbo). and whilst checking the turbo over I did notice 1 thing that I really didnt like about the car, the windows were down and I pressed the metal skin at the top of the door (where the window dissapeers) and the metal pushed in very easily, I done it to all doors for the same result, then went to my mates vt commo and it was very solid and strong.I dont know if I should worry about it too much, but it is something ill be thinking about.CheersJim Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1412-gearbox/page/2/#findComment-15219 Share on other sites
