Guest Guests Posted 20/11/04 09:04 PM Share Posted 20/11/04 09:04 PM (edited) All right Im back whats been doing,Wondering if the XR8 CAI will still fit my airbox seeing Ive gone and fitted the SS CAI already. Might not be much room on the front wall of the box left. Got to be said, the XR8 CAI looks the goods and seems to be at the right price Vs a well known alturnative (price wise that is).Is the XR8 CAI flexable as far as fitting goes? Could it be fitted over a bit, more to the right? Already got a big hole but it seems real XR men have 2 theses days, so its time to get working.BIG Thanks to Thunder & Silverbullet, great work & nice pic's guys . Now if you can find some time can you supervise my CAI....PM when you have a chanceBlonk,There was a great thread on this topic a while back, which included the part numbers and a step-by-step guide on the install (including photographs). It was easy to follow and well worth the time and $'s.Also, has anyone else had a look at the air intakes on the Typhoon? It looks like the guys at Ford have taken on the R & D done here as the 2nd intake in the FPV looks very much the same as this mod. That leads me to a question that maybe one of the Ford parts guys can answer:If the Typhoon has a ready engineered 2nd intake like the one we've made, what's the part number and how much is it?? To be safe, I may not hook it all back up till tomorrow.Simon suggested smearing the Silicone Sealant around the rubber join and also used a water spray bottle to wet the silicone to make sure the silicone's surface is smooth. It should be fine. There is still a rubber lip of 5 mm or more, protruding the sealant join to the rubber and the airbox.
