Picture as promised.  It's time to take this show on the road and share the joy with the very impressionable public.

I know not every body has issues with their T, but way too many of us do!!  Mine has been going on for 16 months and 56,500km.  No where near good enough from a $56K Car Of The Year.

This costs less than a tank of petrol to do, but can reach huge numbers of people.

It has only been on there for a day, and you would not believe the number of positive responses I have received from people, and not one negative comment!

:spoton:  :reallymad:

I would reccomend parking it outside the dealer...that will really get the word out.

I can sympathise with all that have problems... my list is as long as it is thick.

I have been waiting for a gearbox fix for the last 3-4 months.... mind you originally I was told the fix would be available in 4 weeks...... now (last week) 16 weeks later, I receive a letter that states "Our service engineering department is currently investigating your vehicle concerns and we will contact you when an upgrade is available" WTF??? if you cant fix it??? then supply me with a new one... seems simple to me.. how long do they think is reasonable for them to have time to fix the issue??

The letter also states that the problem is most prominent in 3rd gear  I have supplied them in writing as well as the dealer confirmiing in writing that it is second and first not third gear.... but they cant seem to understand this part.

then the letter states "any recalibrations or repairs to resolve the vehicle concerns will have the remainder of the ford express new vehicle warranty, which is 3 years/100000 kilometres, or ou parts warranty of 12 months/20000 kilometres which ever is the greater" Now since I have 19000 km on the car now.... the way I understand this pont is they are covering their arses for as long as possible to come out with a fix.... they are essentially saying that it could take 2 more years b4 we have a fix :spoton: and if this is the case we will only give you a 20000km warranty on the fix......Thanks a lot ford :w00t2:

I have other issues a plenty but need not bore people with them..... the funny thing is I still love the car........ just not enough to be ever buying from ford again

eXtreme,

I dodn't need to make special trips to park my car outside a dealer, it has enough problems that it spends the majority of it's time there anyway!

Although I definately feel the need to test drive a number of new Ford vehicles and get prices for replacement parts, which will require me to goto and park outside numerous dealers in my T. :ermm:

So have we all read the "Drive" section of Todays Sydney Morning Herald?

Or read www.drive.com.au?

The 'official' word from Ford is that the Overboost fix has been out for a couple of weeks and at any rate only affected about 100 cars...

Ofcourse when I spoke to 13FORD on Wednesday there wasn't a fix for my car yet...

So there you have it.... It's nice to know so many people can squeal on an Internet forum but somehow very few actually will take the time to complain up to Ford or the media...

A.

I have a 13FORD reference number, for all the good it's doing me! :smilielol: And when I complete our current work project I will be contacting Consumer affairs/Department of Fair Trading (I believe they are the same mob now) to see where I stand. :cussing:

I picked up my car after 2 days in Service.

The List of Warranty items to be fixed, What Ford did and the result.

1. Shuddering and noisy power steering:-

Ford replaced one of the power steering hoses and said it was all fixed, there is a TSB for this problem.

Driving out of the driveway, the car was shuddering, it actually seemed worse....but I will wait untill I drive it a bit more :nono:

2. Ford badge on steering wheel was warped.

Ford replaced the whole airbag assembly, they said.

I think they just replaced the badge, but it is good :w00t2:

3. Gearbox is stuffed, makes bad clunking, has popped out of third x 2, was difficult to put into 3rd and 5th, was making a slight grinding noise.

The Ford service manager took the car overnight to his house in Gosford (from Brookvale.. about 150klm round trip) to test the car on the freeway.

They did nothing...AGAIN....Yes the car clunks, but they could not replicate the other issues....I lost it... :gooff: ...I can understand that my service department is at the mercy of MoFoCo, but I said that they should be putting the pressure on Ford and not make it between me and Ford....Anyway I will be now getting an engineers report and then see what happens after I have this ammo and I take it up with Ford CRC.

4. Slight whine in the diff.

This was also checked on the freeway and they did detect some noise, but nothing was done about it.

I was not too fussed about this as it is not noticable unless you are on a smooth freeway like the M5 with the radio off, but I am sure it will be done in another 25k km.

5. Oil leak from Turbo, I have had several puffs of smoke coming out of the drivers side bonnet.

They found a leak and tightened up the bolts and hoses feeing the turbo. They also said to keep an eye out for any further occurances

Happy they found the problem and did something, I just hope it has solved the leak

6. Coolant leak from around the water pump. I had noticed some coolant marks around the waterpump and below onthe splash guard under the motor.

They tightened the hoses and topped up the coolant, but could not see any leakage.

I cannot say I have seen any green coolant leaking, but something is making the stains...I guess time will tell if it gets worse :ermm:

7. Premium brakes squeeling badly.

Ford replaced the pads under the TSB

Happy no more squeeling :w00t2:

Overall I guess I am only partially happy that something was fixed and not all "no fault found" as it has been in the past. They did not do a PCM update as they had it on the report that the client did not want it, although when I dropped the car in for service I said I wanted it.

They also did not charge me for any brake pad wear, so all the work was done for $0 :spit::kissmy:

I think my dealer is starting to understand that I will not tollerate FoMoCo BS, so they tell me the truth and what my options are. They are now expecting a call from Ford CRC after the letter I wrote CRC this afternoon :w00t2:

Zap,

Is there a TSB out on the squealing performance brakes? About a year ago I complained repeatedly about the squeal to my dealer and eventually they re-machined them with a "different shapped tool" susposedly giving them a different surface finish. It stopped about 85% of the squeal. To date I have not bothered to continue chasing this. Do the new pads solve the problem? Do they still pump out huge amounts of brake dust? Has anybody tried the carbon fibre dustless pads (aka BMW aftermaket)?

Track,

There is a TSB for the Squeel. You just tell them your neighbours all hate you becuase of it. I have only done about 20km with them, but no noise yet, bit too early to see if they dust up like the origional ones

Thanks Zap, I like your reasons!
