The T is my first Ford and I have had the pleasure of a wide range of performance stuff. I believe that it is a great car, and provides an almost zero compromise - space, room, perfomance, cost, consumption etc. With Phase II it's sensational. In Zap's case I would leave the chip on if it makes the car more driveable - that really doesn't impact the warranty on the other 99% of the car so what if they want to blacklist you. My advice is not to accede to that sort of bullying, the burden of proof that a subsequent failure of any component can be attributed to a Unichip is on them, not you.Dingah
NighEve Member 193 Member For: 20y 4m 4d Posted 24/11/04 10:00 AM Author Share Posted 24/11/04 10:00 AM We may be a minority in comparison to the cars that do not have problems - but I would ask you to consider the shear volume of times you have heard reference to or direct complaint about one or more of the following:- Brake shudder (recurring, band aid fix!)- Diff and driveline clunk (replaced and still sh*t when new!)- Overboost cut (reflash - sh*t-flash!)- Idle stall (read above!)- General inconsistence performance (read above again!)- Dead Fuel Pump (not up to the task over long periods!)Need I say more? Maybe a poll of how many members have had one or more of those problems since owning their T would confirm/support this.Anyway, I'm just cranky cause I am driving a castrated so-called "performance vehicle" that could be beaten by my wife's 4cyl SSS pulsar! And, I sympathise with you Aaronmihe as this is precisely my experience. I noted a small inconsistent idle issue at my 45K service (WHAT A BIG MISTAKE THAT WAS). It got reflased and since then you know the rest....The farking hilarious thing about it is my wife - who is hardly versed in cars let alone tuning - quaintly said to me the other day "If there was nothing wrong with the first tune they had on your car and the other tune corrected the idle problem, why don't ford just copy the idle part of the program back into the older program to fix it?" - I wonder if it could be really this simple (it wouldn't surprise me if it was)....... Ask yourself - Have you put up with 6 months plus of "fix coming soon" from Ford? I have, it's time Ford puts some software onto my car that makes it perform like it did when I first bought it.A. The car is a June 2004 build. (cross fingures) nothing else has gone wrong......My father has just purchasee a new Audi S4 Turbo........and guess what.............he looses power, overboost, wastegate etc..........I will keep you posted on how Audi fixes the problem........I would also agree that there are many more T owners (like myself) who have not had any problems and if so, FMC has had them fixed.......Its just that we are a silent mob and dont let it be known that our T's are a godsend..!!!dutchie

I want to be burying HSVs not travelling at their speed with tech glitches... Any of you with issues turned up at Ford Campbelfield or Geelong and demanded to speak to someone, I know I would stop at nothing paying for the DREAM and then getting less than that...Makes me feel like holding on to my Mondeo for a little longer, never skips a beat, German build Ford, but I worry.... I dont drive it slow and easy.... if anything ever breaks... will I pay Euro Car part prices ...
Guest TRACK Guests Posted 26/11/04 11:44 AM Share Posted 26/11/04 11:44 AM Picture as promised. It's time to take this show on the road and share the joy with the very impressionable public.I know not every body has issues with their T, but way too many of us do!! Mine has been going on for 16 months and 56,500km. No where near good enough from a $56K Car Of The Year. This costs less than a tank of petrol to do, but can reach huge numbers of people. It has only been on there for a day, and you would not believe the number of positive responses I have received from people, and not one negative comment! :reallymad:

At least if it had problems I knew who to blame. Hmmmm well most of the time. macka

Mario Mendoza Member 82 Member For: 20y 8m 24d Location: Blue Mountains Posted 27/11/04 05:54 AM Share Posted 27/11/04 05:54 AM mmm, mine hasn't had all that many probs but for the money I paid for it, the service I get from Ford is disgusting to say the least. I'm currently training a monkey to see if I can get him a job at my local service dept.As much as I love the car, I'll never spend money on a ford again. Wake up Ford, you're losing customers. No matter how many "cars of the year" they make, I'll always remember the after sales service I've received. They must think we're all idiots! The car's still great, the service sux big time!
