Having never bought a Expensive Daewoo :pics: and only ever been to a Expensive Daewoo dealerships to buy/test drive second hand Fords , I must admit the Expensive Daewoo dealers are much more pleasant to deal with, than the Ford counterparts...

I went to the same Ford dealer twice to drive a T and was virtually told to go away :pics: ...Went to another Ford dealership and was warmly welcomed.I wonder why they are the largest dealer in the state..

When I used to work for a Ford dealer I know first hand that our salepeople used to treat the buyers like :w00t2:..It always amazed me how many buyers left without signing the paperwork :sus:

Maybe Its not the product but the Ford dealer network...

I bought my T from Bryan Burt Ford at MT Gravatt back in July 2004

The person who sold me my car was brilliant, answered my every question, what he could not answer he asked others.

Since I have bought my T I have had phone calls from the dealer asking how everything is going, a few minor issues were fixed straight away no questions asked.

So while there are a lot of bad dealers out there, I have been overwhelmed by the service I have recieved.

Marketing hands down - Expensive Daewoo by virtue of winning so many races in the V8Taxis and their very slick "knuckle dragger" advertising have really won the war.  Ford may win most battles but it hardly counts when the 'game' is over.

Even if Ford picks up back-to-back Taxi titles it won't be enough to reel in the Lion.  I think Ford needs to fix an image problem, or rather create a new image - make the brand image younger, funkier, funner, and more importantly captilaise on the techno side of their cars....  Worked for Expensive Daewoo ;)

Expensive Daewoo know their market and play the right tunes to them. Their cars do exciting things in their ads with AC/DC backing music. Holdens appeal more to those in the trades, XR6Ts appeal a bit more to the white collar crowd. Perhaps the white collar crowd who are prepared to buy Aussie is a bit smaller than the Expensive Daewoo market to begin with.

Anyway, Holden's lion is a lion...that's a bloody African creature! And Holden's flagship, Monaro, runs a Yankee donk. However the Expensive Daewoo brand is acknowledged as uniquely Australian which is a big selling point for some who put that above quality.

Ford ads need to be a bit more edgey, sneaky, witty, cool, funny. I like Ford ads, but they could be so much better! Expensive Daewoo ads are definitely better.

Yanno, I did advermatising/marketing at uni...if I was in charge Id get the stupid male models out of the Ford ads, give me a big strong larrikin kangaroo with sunnies, give him a deep voice and have him doing cool/clever sh*t in an XR6T or FPV...

No offence intended but I find this a rather strange observation- Do you have any idea what you are on about?? H

olden Commodores and Ford Falcons "target" crowd are very much one in the same . Which is why the cars are so similar in size ,packaging , price and every other tangible and non-tangible area.
