As my signature would suggest, tommorow is to be the day that a nice red manual devil should fall into my eager hands. Initially, this was supposed to happen today, except, of course, it was delayed a day. Fine, I can live with that. So today it was delivered to the dealer and I was told that I will be able to pick it up 4pm tommorow...how exciting! I already booked in the tint, and have sorted out an alarm as well as making plans for my first big road trip to tassie to run her in next weekend.I couldn't help myself, I just had to pop down to the dealer and check her out today, the wait was killing me. Ordered her at the begining of January ya see, so I have been counting down to this momment. I saw that cute but poking out of its parking spot out the back of the dealer and went for a closer inspection. YUM! Red, 18's, leather, sports wheel, matts, auto.....hang on a minute....auto? WTF?? Is this my car? yep, same SIDO. You have got to be kidding me! I ordered a manual!!! OK, keep breathing Chris, if you go to jail for murder you will never get to drive your baby.... So now, I sit....and wait...while people at my dealer stumble over each other trying to find me another car....I will not be waiting another 3 months without wheels....and I will not be forced into a Ka or Laser :tears:

HellionXR6T I'm Back!! Thats right, long over due! :) Lifetime Members 4,348 Member For: 22y 3m 5d Gender: Male Location: West Brisbane Posted 25/03/03 05:21 AM Share Posted 25/03/03 05:21 AM Unbelievable, sorry to hear that. Do you think it's the fault of the dealor or "You know who"? I know how you feel. They gave us the "OPTIONAL" plexis grey instead of the "STANDARD" plexis phantom interior (which looks 10 times better than plexis grey, eek!!!). I know it's not as bad as getting the transmission wrong, however we did have to wait for a 2003 January build instead of a 2002 November build. Could have been worse, if an opening didn't open in January, we could very well have been waiting for a MARCH 2003 build? Ahh no sorry.....Was not happy. Complaining does have its benefits. So what extra's are you demanding?

GDH Member 84 Member For: 22y 24d Posted 25/03/03 06:46 AM Share Posted 25/03/03 06:46 AM And I thought I was the only one still waiting from November...was originally due March 6, then March 28, now April (maybe?)The lease co blames Ford...delays due to options, delays due to so many retail buyers pushing my car back, etc, etc...but I suspect they're not trying too hard. And I'm stuck with them, what's worse - bugger.GDH

You have got to be kidding me! I ordered a manual!!! I know you really wanted a manual, but if you could live with an auto, demand they give you the car and don't pay the extra $1000 for the auto (hopefully you haven't already been charged for it). May be worth a bit more come resale....
cdm Member 886 Member For: 22y 3m 29d Posted 25/03/03 08:18 AM Author Share Posted 25/03/03 08:18 AM Thanks for all your support and oppinions. XR6na I did consider that very option actually, however, my AU was an auto so I was very keen to go a manual this time round. Oz_Utester thanks for the advice on the road trip down tassie way, I am still really looking forward to getting down there as soon as I can.ed-au-ba-xr6 I think it is the fault of the dealer as "apparently" somebody forgot to put down the transmission type on the order so they just assumed an auto! How come nobody asked any questions when the dealer ordered the car? It was on the working sheet and I was very clear about it! Don't know if I should demand extra's, or how far to push it. They are calling me back in the morning to let me know the soonest they can get a car. The longer the wait, the bigger the demand.Pix I live in Berwick and did actually come very close to getting a car from Coffey Ford, however, I got a better deal through my local guys. They were very appologetic and though it should never of happend in the first place, they have been putting in an effort to find me another car ASAP. They are trying to find one off another dealer somewhere, and in the meantime I demanded another car. Better be some kind of Falcon. As I said to the dealer, this is a pretty phenomonal F**K up. AMoffat Member 744 Member For: 22y 2m 2d Posted 25/03/03 10:58 AM Share Posted 25/03/03 10:58 AM OK, my tale of woe...I ordered in the first week of December. Full retail. Three big options and a whole lot of little ones...So what happens is that originally I was told the car might be March delivery but we should be able to swap it for something else from another dealer - they get something and I get the Turbo originally allocated to the other dealer - possibly in January. Ok sounds real good. I come home and that afternoon join this forum. Then I am told the dealers contact at "Ford" is not back to the 7th of Jan. Hence the hold up on the swap option for the dealer. So following their instructions I turn up on the day, the 7th or so and am told no, "I told you he was not back to the 13th of January, what's the problem, I can't do anything come back then".I am still pissed over this. You simply don't treat people that sign up for a 57 thousand dollar expenditure like this.So then we go for a few weeks and I hear from a friend who has a in at the local Ford dealer near his home. To be specific the girl who can access the company's allocation computer. There is no Phantom Turbo with my options allocated to be built for the region in which I live! No sido, no nothing and two months or more have passed since I signed up!OK, so we get to three weeks ago, and the dealer phones to say the car is rolling down the production line on the 6th of March. Thanks very much, maybe things are improving. I am told the car will go to FPV on the 12th and need to be there 10 days. I ask the rep at that time that it would then be delivered about the end of this week right? Oh, yes, that's right I am told.So yesterday, I turn up after work and see the rep. How's it going, has the car gone wholesale yet? Umm, not sure, I'll ring you back in the morning and let you know. So, funny enough, my house is on the market at the moment and I am finalising an offer which the real estate agent was getting back to me on. But, I'm concerned with the phone call from the dealer regarding the car.I'm in and out of meetings all morning, so I call the dealer because the call never came (this is my major complaint - poor customer relations, no follow up on promised calls). When I speak to the rep, I am transferred to the dealer principal (or there abouts) where I am told to take it easy don't call us we will call you when it arrives.Sorry,
