Changing Wheels

I've been given a good price on a MkI runout that's been optioned up and has 18 inch wheels fitted. Because the budget won't stretch that far I was going to ask to have them swapped with standard 17's. Is it just a matter of swapping the wheels or are there other suspension / ecu settings that need to be changed?

Thanks

Mate no changes required they swap straight over.

I do believe however that they are trying to pull the woll over your eyes. From my understanding and I will stand corrected, they were optioning the XR8's with wheels and premium sound for no extra.

Quite frankly if I was signing on the dotted line for a series one with series 2's already on the lot, I would expect them to throw the wheels in plus a few extra's :w00t2:

Shop around, there are some bargains to be had!Don't let the dealers fool you, they must get rid of their series one stock.

No he's not kidding, they had to change the settings on my PCM as my sedan with 17's was set as a Ute with 18's. :spoton:

Basically it is just the press of a computer board key once plugged into the car.

It's true, something to do with the rolling diameter of the whell effecting the speedo reading.

Cause there is no speedo cable anymore the pcm uses sensors to read the revolutions and needs to know what size wheel is on the car for correct speedo results.

Thanks everyone!

JB, I'll see how I go. So far they will give leather and premium sound at no cost which is ~$3k, if I can swing the wheels as well I've got to be doing ok even if it is a mkI right?

Hi

It all depends on the box, I spose.

Auto MK1 will not drop in value as much as a Manual 5speed, in my opinion.

I say this cause the auto is unchanged, so the other changes are small. but the manual the change is 1 gear, which is argubly HUGE!!

True, but now the auto and manual are the same price. Before you paid $950 (from memory) to get the auto.l
