I've seen a few computer related posts around and though it may be a good idea to start something for members who have problems, questions or just want to share some tips. There are plenty of members who are IT professionals and I’m sure they wouldn't mind sharing their expertise with other members in need.

*TIP*

Walking away from your desk for a few minutes?

you can lock your Windows NT/2000/XP based computer by holding down Ctrl+Alt+Delete then hitting the Enter key.

Great Idea XRSICKT, for us non Techo's.

BTW where is the 'Any' key? :w00t2: (Joking)

Seriously however, how do you place a pic directly onto the post page rather than an attachment?

and how do you post numerous quotes on the one reply?

I know they are more forum related questions, but it's a start of many questions to come me thinks! :sleepystuff:

Throw one out there...

Why are all ADSL modems external?

We had only just got the old dial up modems as internal then they go and throw the DSL modems at us..... :sleepystuff:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

You have to "link" it from another website, copy and paste the text from Properties after right clicking on pic ie. http://www.joeblow.com/coolcar.jpg and then wrap the text with {img]" "{/img]" tags (without the " and using { bracket instead of {)

and how do you post numerous quotes on the one reply?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

You really need to have more than one browser window open and just copy and paste the text into your post and wrap it with "{quote]" "{/quote]" tags (without the " and using { bracket instead of {)

Even quicker, you can just hold down the windows key and press 'L' :sleepystuff:

Great idea XRSICKT, this should keep the forum tidier and up to date

Or you could just use the p_mq_add.gif button on the post's you want to quote turning them into a p_mq_remove.gif button for some unknown reason.. :w00t2:

You can use this button on every post in a thread if wanted..... :sleepystuff: ....as if there's not enough quotin goin on now....

You can get internal ADSL modems, its just that service providers still consider ADSL tehnology to be new and therefor only offer exteral units with their packages to simplify fault finding when you ring to ask for help. You can still go out and get your own internal modem but you'll find the providers won't help you when you ring them up unless that brand and model is in their list of suported ADSL modems.
