SS have nothing on the T just wondering has anyone lined up a stock 2001 200sx, my mate just bought one on friday what do u reckon my chance is? anyways good to see ya proved her wrong <{POST_SNAPBACK}>They are great handling cars and fun, however I think the best time Motor ever got from the S15 shape was around 14.4 or so... You should take it pretty easy (if you can launch good) Watch out though, like all turbo cars you dont have to spend much to get them really flying! The model Mr Turbo is talking about was the S14 and much slower, even when blowing 10psi, as the S15 is around 14psi stock.

I now the s15 has a six speed box where the s14 only had a five speed. But yeah a simple exhaust and intake upgrade and these things will fly, like the T they wont cost you a great deal to get them into the 12's, whether the driver can drive it into the 12's will be the deciding factor, I was going to buy one of these instead of the T, but opted for the more spacious falcon, also the sr20det is without doubt one of the best turbo motors ever made, they are strong as and can make some huge power.Dazza. MaxPower Member 65 Member For: 20y 6m 5d Posted 15/11/04 10:13 AM Share Posted 15/11/04 10:13 AM True Dazza!!!.......the sr20det is great.also you'll find the S15 is a fraction slower on the Q due to an extra shift needed,..........and alot of ppl in S15's RetroGrade to the 5 speed due to the extra power they can take. The S14 are a slug of the line and he cries everytime I pass him  The S15 should be a bit more of a challenge. A standard T should beat a standard S15? Crumpet Member 27 Member For: 20y 9m 18d Location: Melbourne, Vic Posted 16/11/04 05:49 AM Share Posted 16/11/04 05:49 AM (edited) As a avid fan of both the 200sx and the xr6t I felt the need to clarify a couple factsfirst of all the s15 runs identical boost as the s14, both around 9psi , its the jap spec s15 that runs higher boost , also the s14 has actually been consistently faster then the s15 on most accounts (best case 14.2 for s14 and 14.4 for s15, average 14.3 for s14 & 14.6 for s15) this is mainly due to lengthier gears which means one less gear change over the 1/4.finally please note that any midly worked 200sx (ie exhuast +boost) will no doubt be much faster then any stock xr6t , its just that most people cant drive them right and they are much harder to get off the line then say an auto xr6t.I have seen many 200sx's with only boost , exhaust and air cleaner pulling mid to high 13's but with trap speeds indicating very low 13'snow once you start working on the xr6t , then as we all know its a different story as these things are awesome for getting the power to the ground and even a aps stage 2 can achieve low to mid 12's consistently.but dont underestimate the might of the sr20det , for a 4 cyl motor they have been known to make over 750hp in japan and are almost bulletproof.and even here in Au with a mod plan consisting of ecu, injectors, exhuast, cai, cooler and bigger turbo , you can expect around 250rwkw+ (with a 1290kg car that's the equivilant to a stage 3 aps xr6t) Edited 16/11/04 05:54 AM by Crumpet

YOOT Member 1,201 Member For: 21y 6m 2d Location: Birkdale Posted 16/11/04 09:12 AM Share Posted 16/11/04 09:12 AM Owning both a T and a Late model camira SS I have been undecided on which one was faster, the T feels faster but a few traffic light drags have proven them to be very very similar. But tonight my wife and I decided to stop the argument of whos is faster by having a rolling start race on the highway on the way home, before anyone has a hissy fit on how stupid this is, it was at 2:00am and no other cars were around, also there is a 60 zone which leads straight into a 100 zone so that provided the perfect launching pad, so travelling at 60 we nailed it and the SS jumped about half a car lenght to which I thought, oh crap I am never gonna here the end of this then the T just breezed past and pulled away, by the time we backed off at XXXkmph the T had about 2 car lenghts on the SS. The SS is still fun to drive though.Dazza.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I found similar results when I played tag with a VY SS ute M6.Rolling start on the 8 lane super highway thing, we were even and I pulled a bit in 4th, a convincing win. Later in the evening, I had a go from a stand still at a set of lights in front of all his Expensive Daewoo buddies. I absolutely pasted him in 1st gear, and held him off in second but he was catching me. We ran out of road, but I won again. At least he gave me a big thums up and I got a few beeps and waves from the Expensive Daewoo Brigade, top blokes!
