After the results of the dyno day on Saturday, I was stunned. Everything on the day pointed to the dyno read being accurate except that it was 60rwkw's higher than I was expecting. The car before mine was Miss Ally's and ran 165rwkw's. When mine ran 392 I thought there must be a mistake. Nick then ran up my low map which got 275rwkw's which is pretty well spot on. He then ran the race map again and got 390rwkw's. A few other cars that are tuned at Amberleys also got slightly higher reading than what they were expecting, but only by 10-15rwkw's. The last run of the day I saw was Deano's ute and it pulled 330rwkw's which was very close to the 334rwkw's that APS said he had.

I have spoken to Ian at the HPF and have organised to take the car there first thing Monday morning. He'll go over the car and run it up on the dyno to see what happens. He was as surprised as I was when I told him what the car got. He said he better have a look make sure everythings ok. The car is exactly the same as it was on the day with the same tune and same fuel. The only thing different will be the weather and that looks like it will be similar.

I'd like to believe that my car has that much power but until I get a second opinion I'm a bit doubtful. I don't know why it read so high and no-one else has been able to come up with any ideas either besides the car actually having the 392rwkw's.

I'll let everyone know how I go with the team at the HPF as soon as I get the results. I'm hoping its close to that but I'm thinking closer to 330rwkw's similar to Deano.

Everything seems to be in your favour Craig, a error in the dyno is a possibility but to have that error happen twice the odds of that seem pretty slim, especially as you mention it was reading accurate on other cars. All the best anyway, and if it comes back at 392kw get some slicks on that thing real quick.

Dazza.

Good luck with it buddy. I tend to agree with you about being closer to 330 (Nick I am not having a stab at your dyno and I know you back the results until the cows come home and I was there to see it.)

392 rwkw is 64 rwkw more than you have had before 328 at HPF.

To put that into perspective it's like a normal T owner waking up one morning and going for a drive to find that he now has the power of an APS Phase 2, that's a big jump in power for no reason!

Now your car has the engine to produce handle this kind of power but if 328 was all HPF could manage without pinging then who knows how it's doing it safely.

The dyno was spot on for most of the day. Although I had 2 runs back to back of 284 and 280 rwkw and the cars before and after me had realistic figures. (Craig was 2nd after me)

I then went back on and had 2 runs of 332 rwkw in the arvo though so that is the only anomaly from the dyno on the day.

Nick will check this morning on the dyno settings though. (I would duck Pretzel he will ping you for the first false results :smilielol:

Best of luck with it Craig, you should have started a poll on it, if you do have 392 surely a retune for 400 is a must

You know my thoughts on the matter Craig, at the end of the day even with the people like myself who had a bit more than their last dyno (Me 274rwkw) there was not as much variance as yours. The confusing thing was most people came in where they should have, and your second map ran spot on.

My only other thought after our conversation was the car was forward on the front rollers, and not touching the back ones on that run due to the power, I do not know whether this would taint the readings, but it's just a thought.

Besides that if there is no other explanation, I am coming over to let your daughter play with my tune settings on my car!

Yeah, I'll probably need to duck, but what can I say, the setup I did was the same for all the cars. (Let Dynowog near the keyboard on the machine, and look what happens....) :pooh:

I'll just point him to your false low readings first off, then proper ones later ! Driver error I say ! :ermm::pooh::spoton:

And Hey, I've been hassling Geea about what mine will do once completed, so why would I inflate his figures ? (Of course I know he will still have heaps more ATW than I will, but hey don't tell Geea ! :o )
