that's right Expensive Daewoo do not cheat so they will not say a thing.

If it is true lets see there reaction to this one they will find a way of blaming ford for it I am sure. :lol:

It was Todd Kelly, apparantly he was excluded for the indy round due to an illegal wiring loom. Rick Kelly has also been fined $5000 for punting Bright into the wall and the scary thing is they had not reached a decision into the inquiry about Ambrose and Kelly there could still be some fallout from this incident. Maybe some bad news to follow, Hope not!

* The Expensive Daewoo Racing Team's Todd Kelly has been excluded from race two of the Gillette V8 Supercar Challenge at Indy three weeks ago. Kelly's car was discovered to have an illegal ECU wiring loom and the team was found guilty by CAMS stewards in a special hearing this morning. The HRT incident was not made public until Wednesday, more than two weeks after the event. The change in results means that

Jason Bargwanna has been awarded third overall; his first podium result for Ford.

And if Ambrose can walk away this weekend with a 193 (I think... :o )lead, he will wrapp up the championship! And in his home state... Best of luck Ambrose!

Current V8 Supercar Championship leader Marcos Ambrose confirmed his position as home town favourite with a blistering display of speed that smashed the lap record in the opening practice session for the Tasmania Triple Challenge at Symmons Plains Raceway this weekend.

The Pirtek Falcon driver set a new lap record of 52.8467secs in a practice session that saw the top 26 cars separated by just one second. Expensive Daewoo Racing Team’s Todd Kelly was second fastest with teammate Mark Skaife in third.

As the V8 Supercars returned to Tasmania for the first time in five years, all eyes were on local hero and reigning V8 Supercar Champion Ambrose as he led the toppling of times that saw almost the entire field go under the lap record.

“We expected to do a good time and 52.8 seconds is a time,” Ambrose said.

“As the rubber goes down, we’ll get quicker and quicker and by the time qualifying comes around the surface will be really good.”

The short Symmons Plains circuit will mean car setup and qualifying will be critical ahead of tomorrow’s first race and Expensive Daewoo Racing Team driver Mark Skaife believes it will be one of the toughest and closest qualifying sessions the category has ever seen.

“You’ve got to do a great job under braking for one lap and you’ve got to get every little bit out of it,” Skaife said

“I think we may see the tightest qualifying session of the season, we could have at least 20 cars within a second of each other.”

Castrol Perkins driver Steve Richards believes the competition will be even closer and the race winner will be decided by car setup and the ability to cope with the surface changes on the track.

“I think for the first time in V8 Supercars we could see the entire field within a second of each other,” Richards said.

“The race will most likely come down to setup and how the car copes with the surface changes on the track.”

Tomorrow’s schedule will see the V8 Supercars complete practice two before the all important qualifying and top ten shootout and the first race which will commence at 4.00pm.

And I wish it was my foot and you don't need to be a rocket scientist to know where I'd like to put it. :o

They've been cheating for years and now they have finally caught them at it. If they were a championship contender, I bet it would have been covered up.

I can't wait to see Ingal give Skaife hell on the next show. Talk about :o all over you face just like Perkins. :o :o

Lets see him sook his way out of this one. They'll try and through it back onto SBR for sure.

Just watched Sports Tonight,

Apparently according to Skaife it was a human error, they left a wire that was going to a air temp sensor in the loom near the ECU. Funny how it was alright for them to have it, didnt seem to bother him to much. When SBR had a similar infringement all hell was about to break loose.

Talk about double standards.

Was'nt that the same reason that SBR gave. Can't even come up with their own excuses if that the case.
