Not bad for a 512k down and 128k up connection. I do get an average of about 55 kilobytes/sec or so when downloading things from the ISP.

I couldn't get ADSL until a few weeks ago. So far 285 hrs connected with no downtime. I still can't get over this. I was one of those unfortunate people on a RIM and Pair Gain system. Real pitty though. There is optical fibre in the curbs around here (has been there for 10 years) and no one can use it :(

I must add that I have a 4 port ADSL router, a wireless access point plugged into it and an 8 port 10/100 hub, with no less than a total of 8 computers hooked up to all this in someway. Much better now than the bad ol' dialup days.

would 6.7mb/s be 6700kb/s?

Megabit (Mb) or Megabyte (MB). Big difference. a Byte is 1/8th of a bit. Anyways, 1 MegaByte is 1024 KiloBytes (KB). Kilobit is Kb.

so 6MB will be 6114 KB

so 0.7 MB will be 716.8 Kilobytes

so 6.7MB will be 6830.8 Kilobytes

I hope my maths is right.
