I am with Ford Credit too, but used HBF for insurance. No drama's, just had to get a fax confirming coverage sent to Ford Credit.

Correct me if im wrong, but when purchasing a new vehicle you also take into account the cost of insurance, and related expenses. If the premium was way too high I would not be purchasing the vehicle, would like your feedback on this too.

I researched insurance before I bought my XR6T, I wouldn't have bought one if it was going to cost anywhere near that much to insure.

Hope you come up with a suitable solution Chris.

$3892, I asked out of curiosity...

I went with NRMA for a couple of reasons, and price wasn't one of them.

I could of got insurance for $900 but refused it as the excess was $2400 for an at fault accident (even hitting animals was at fault), and $4500 for a theft.

NRMA gave me a 65% maximum NCB

Any animal hits or thefts don't effect my NCB (very important to me as I do about 60,000kms 80% at night time a year, and the chances of hitting an animal is huge).

Exess is only $450 + $400 age exess (under 25).

I've been insured with them previously and they sucked big time, taking over 30 mins to answer a call, taking 4 - 6 months to pay me out on a write off and a theft, but now there seem to be a lot of happy customers, and they answer the phone within 30 seconds (longest I've waited) at lunch time!!

Not to mention I bundled my home and contents and health insurance saving a further 12.5% off each premium which is really cool.

Its tough under 30....am 45, just traded AUIII XR8 for 2004 turbo last week. Have ford credit for $57k and AAMI insurance...got $18 credit from XR8 price. Live at Mt Annan in Sydney. Total isurance is $1048.00

Suggest you try a few performance car insurance companies...I was looking at a Liberty B4 two years ago and insurance went from $4k to $1600

Good Luck...?
