X Box vs PS2

Hi Gang,

Now I'm sure I've seen this topic before? but can't find it through a search. With Christmas coming up I'm looking at buying my two boys something they can both enjoy and play at the same time, alright who am I kidding it's for me as well! Anyway it's bloody confusing as everywhere you go someone has a different story! Is one better than the other? Does one have better graphics, better game selection etc any help and advice is appreciated.

ps2 = more variety of games etc

xbox = bigger procesor so faster loading, and an on-board hdd (10 gig) which means you dont need to buy a memory card

ive got an xbox, and loved every minute I played on it (waiting to get halo 2 now) but I couldnt stop playing my brothers ps2 when playing gran turismo 3, awsome game

GT4 PFFF. No damage no multiplayer from what im told. The only good thing about PS2 is GTA san adraes.

Xbox has better graphics and Xbox Live, Get the Xbox its so much better..Ive had both.

Sony have sold more boxes than any other game console manufacturer.

They have more games available.

They generally have better games or they end up being relaesed on there console first.

The Ps2 is getting a bit tired and is struggling until the Ps3 comes out,but I think this is still another year awayat least.

Thanks for the prompt replies! Probably a silly question but we currently have a PS1 from the Ark! Do PS1 games work in a PS2 not that they will be interested in playing the old games anyway when there's better available!

Hey Kato yes ps1 games will work in the ps2. Like the others said, if you want a better selection of games, go the ps2. For the better console, get the xbox.

if your not really really wanting to get a game system fast, you should wait till xbox 2 comes out, it will be a killer (early 2005)
