Editing forums can be quite tiresome.BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH - Equity mate? - Edited for the sake of sanity by Geeseman. This is my first hand experience not stuff from a magazine. The stock auto T will not lose to a stock auto GT from a standing start. I have photo's and time slips of the GT runs at Calder if you'd like proofWe are talking about the series 2 GT here. Also you may have beated a series 1 GT but that's irrelevant. You'd need to race the two head 2 head with identical driver skill and conditions. This is what the mags have done and rated the GT quicker. I can't say if this is right or wrong but it stands up better than your findings because it's an independant test.Oh, and if opening up a can of whoop arse on you is entertaining you really need to get a life. If you actually put down your peices of paper and drove the cars you would understand what people on the thread are saying. No matter what your peices of paper say I have not seen a Gt or the like beat a T, comparing apples with apples I.e modded against modded and stock against stock. I have raced down the qtr against GT's that have had upwards of 10g spent on them with that have not seen one break a 13.5qtr.If you took the time to go and drive a typhoon then get into a Gt, they are two different cars that deliver their power and handling in two very distinctive ways. The Typhoon is alot faster than the GT, all you have to do in drive the thing, nomatter what your little articles say.Firstly I am very familiar with the process of buying votes in magazines, so to speak. I'm not saying these figures are right or wrong. They sound about right to be based on past figures, but until we have any more stats that show discrepancies we can't really say much. I haven't driven a series 2 XRT nor a series 2 GT, but I'm not talking about my opinions here just whats printed. If you ask me there are far too many people wishing to believe that they are incorrect when they haven't even driven either car. You can look at it either way.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I agree, some of you guys really do miss the point. We are comparing the 6 speed GT2 with the Typhoon. Not comparing some GT MK1 with a mates standard Turbo that does 13.3sec. I originally wanted to buy the phoon and thought the magazines were wrong. However I have driven both cars and also the 285KW LS1's and XR6Turbos. After driving these cars I believe the times being posted by the magazines are in the ball park. There is no big conspiracy happening here, there is a general pattern the LS2 is quicker than the GT 6 speed is quicker than the Phoon. BTW for the person with the 263rkw GT, if you are telling me that the Phoon with 270KW at the engine is substantially quicker than your car, then I think you should try another dyno.I take testing times over seat of the pants experience every time.Isn't Motor conducting their performance of the car year award soon. This time they will have Cameorn McConville doing the testing, I assume he is good enough, to verify the performance figures.

Considering the GT would have around 230-240rwkw at stock I also think the times are correct. Phoon does have more torque at certain revs than the GT and this is why it can deliver a more memorable experience.I also road tested a TT LS1 with 400rwkw on the weekend, and although it has a hell of a lot more power than a phase III T, the pull from 3K on the tacho didnt seem as strong. Still at 5K it was going absolutely mad I can see how a 260 rwkw gt can seem slower at times than a 217rwkw phoon, but times will tell a different story im sure. Sorry gents in the real world on a real road, the Typhoon will rip the doors off the other 2 cars. I now have 2 GT owners who have driven the Typhoon Redhawk for more than 100 klm at high speed with a still very tight motor and he agreed. The magazines are full of SH!T. You want to settle this get a phoon unmodded and a GT2 unmodded. Drag them and then swap cars and drag again.3 runs first one with two wins is correct.
