Still think it is good value, its not that much more than an XR6T and it has bigger brakes, GT interior, GT body kit,18 inch wheels bigger intercooler ,stronger conrods, oil cooler, and its a FPV, you could upgrade to 350kw with standard cooler and with probably just a uni chip rods will handle way more than standard ones to

I was given some time's on the F6 some 6 weeks ago and compared them about a month ago to the LS2 (on the hsv web site) and thought to myself these are that close its unreal.

F6

0-100mtr =5.2

0-400mtr =13.4

The thought that crossed my mind was:

The 2 less pots

The huge fuel saving

All round better vehicles

Vintage push rod to an OHC

Ease of increase in kw with the f6.

Lots more

Even though the LS2 looks the goods, to me its old tech and at the end of its time.

All I need now is for someone to show me the times are not fantacy..

Although it’s too late with my order well and truly on its way now I wont/cant change my mind.  To be honest I don’t mind if it doesn’t meet the quoted numbers its still one hell of a beast. :spoton:  :ermm:

Dont know about the huge fuel savings, our gen III uses less than our xr6t, and factor in the displacement on demand function of the gen IV and I think it would use less petrol, not that it really matters.

For those who think the F6 is quicker than any Ford or Expensive Daewoo V8, sorry to disappoint you but check the quoted LS2 Clubsport performance times:

Quoting November 2004 Motor magazine on page 64, according to HSV:

Manual:

0-100km/hr: 5.2s

0-400m : 13.5s

Top speed: 270km/hr (gearing-limited)

Auto:

0-100km/hr: 5.1s

0-400m : 13.3s

Top speed: 274km/hr (drag-limited)

Personally, if I do get an F6, I will wait for the hopefully quicker (hopefully by 0.3-0.5 s over quarter mile) Auto version late next year that might get close to these HSV times.  In the meantime, the street legal sub 5 0-100km/hr, 12 seconds 1/4 mile APS Phase II XR6T will do me just fine.

Safe and happy driving...Dr Z.  :pinch:

I'd like to compare the times for MOTOR tested LS2 and phoon before I can say which car will be faster. I'm not interested in what HSV and Ford have supplied because who knows what their intentions are.

Australian LS2 don't have displacement on demand, in fact I don't think any of them do yet. Its a US only thing anyway, when ever it arrives. We will never see it in the loca product unfortunately.

I thought that was one of there main advantages, something that was a part of that motor when it was designed, oh well who cares really, you dont drive a powerful car to save fuel.
