Last night (cold and raining) turned the heater on and the smell of coolant wofts thru the cabin :gooff: ..

Pulled over to check the level in the header tank...all ok a smidge low

Check the carpets ,they are not wet(yet) :gooff:

Looks like the T will have to spend a couple of days at the dealer for a newie :gooff:

This raises the question: is the cooling system and or componentry quality adequate for the job :o

Finally taken the T to the dealers today to have the heater core replaced..

A couple of interesting point ....

A) the manufacturer of the heater core has an 4% failure rate on cores :ermm: ...

Hope they dont develop an airbag

B) Ford warranties are dealt thru an insurance company.......... :spoton:

Dealers are audited on some of their warranties

This may partly explain why dealers can be a pain in the ass to deal with on warranty issues and the modded T black list :o
