Hey guys, I got an NRMA report done today on a car im looking at purchasing. there wasnt much faulting the BA Falcon ute, but there was a 'defect, requires immediate attention' box ticked. Apparently the clutch fluid is discoloured. Now im not sure what this means. Is it bad? Am I gonna be paying big money to fix it?

The car has 12k kms on it so its basically brand new, I duinno, has the previous owner done 4k clutch dumps that would cause the fluid to change colour? I rang a mechanic friend of mine and said its no drama but I thought id ask u people here, maybe u have had a similar experienec with discoloured clutch fluid.

cheers

Matt

They all do it :smilielol:

Probably more insulation on the hose to prevent the heat from the exhaust/turbo affecting the hose.

Yeh l remember on my XC GXL it always use to come off from the heat of the extractors until .....l ripped it off and replaced it with a Steel Braided one.

yep... I get it on my ute... point it out when you take it to a dealer and they will flush the system for you.... although it gets flushed, it does keep discolouring though :ermm:

I can remember taking a 351 XC for a run thru the hill .After about 1/2 hr of enthusiastic driving the clutch pedal went to the floor..Wasn't that just the greatest feeling :ermm:
