Just wondering if anyone has done any research on insurance for a FPV Typhoon..

I rung a few places today NRMA, AAMI, CGU, etc and noone has any idea when the car will be added to the system..

Ford Insure compared it to a FPV GT and said to me the Typhoon will cost me $3750 to insure it for $67,000.

Would be keen to know if anyone has shopped around?

You would hope it's not that much. The car will start to lose some of its appeal if it costs over $70 a week to insure. that's ridiculous.

Well I went through my company insurance broker who is incedently underpined by SGIO and my quote was around $1700 p.a.

27yo NCB rating AAA 1.

Only problem is I am not sure if that figure is accessable without using a broker.

Just got this email from Ford...

"Insurance quote is: $5,156.00 there is also a special extra excess of $400 on top of the normal excess of $450 if you were ever to make a claim"

Having second thoughts about getting the Typhoon! :pinch:

Have you tried AAMI?

Not sure, they won't touch me until I am over 30 with the T,

BUT

We have Terri insured with AAMI, and we are utilising the Flexi Premium or whatever you call it, it has reduced our yearly premium from $700ish to $370 via opting to pay a higher excess if involved in a accident that we caused, or couldn't identify the third party.
