stickz Member 3 Member For: 21y 4m 22d Posted 06/11/04 01:33 PM Share Posted 06/11/04 01:33 PM I regularly get 510 - 560 km per tank - 900km trip this week was 10.7 per 100km - and that's sitting a 2 hour traffic jam to boot. NighEve Member 193 Member For: 20y 10m 10d Posted 07/11/04 05:46 AM Share Posted 07/11/04 05:46 AM After the last reflash I had (and fuel pump replacement), my ute has consistently gotten far better economy (even though I never thought it was that bad to begin with). I used to get 13s and 14s with 15 city 85 per cent country driving. I now get 10s and 11s. Did a trip up the coast and back (about 700 kms), on the same tank and got 9.9L/100km. Filled up the other day and have been flogging it more than usual (having fun on holidays) and it has 380km on the trip so far with a 12.7 average and at least 200km in range. When I used to flog it consistently it would be up to 17s and I would get a little over 450 out of the tank.Sounds good for economy but it has more problems with this reflash with inconsistent power drops under acceleration (rather have my old tune back and spend more on fuel). Oh yeah, when cold my instantaneous fuel economy can hit 99l/100kms.It sounds like the XR6t's get very similar economy to the XR8's, I average around 15l/100km around town and 10l/100 on the highway. All of you addicted to boost b*stards! hehehe rednut, how much did your fuel consumption drop with the intake mods?? I am looking at getting an XR8 type setup with dual intakes and a K&N pod filter. Cost about 400 odd with the filter!! Not sure if it is worth it but its a claimed 10kwkw on the Turbo and also better fuel econ. Not sure how it will go on the NA engine.INTAKE MOD Edited 07/11/04 07:52 AM by XtRmn8 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/13774-fuel-economy-when-engine-cold/page/2/#findComment-183963 Share on other sites
