FORDXR,

Do I take that as compliment  :glad:

I guess so.

I don't think too many will argue that 13.6 is a bad time for a stock XR6T. :pooh:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

With a 2 second 60' time I don't think it is the driver helping the 13.6 achieved.

ok, I think we're all missing one very important point, the 13.6 with a phase 1 kit (which is very simular power/torque to the F6) is with the old 5-speed, it's possible that 6-speed could make .3-.4 of a second up down the quarter...

2sec 60' time is about smack on the money for that car. :pooh: (a good time)

Have a look at the time slips posted on LS1 with cars producing much more power running around 13.6s with 60' times of about 2.2 sec.

Or even go back a page and have a look at some of the 12sec cars with 2sec 60-foot times.

http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/timeslips.php?...rpage=25&page=5

A XR6T is not an AWD 1200Kg car it is not going to jump off with a 1.5sec 60' foot time without the aid of some serious traction, and certainly won’t do it in stock form. :pooh:

With a stock car What else would be helping. The Sydney equivalent of the Fremantle Doctor ?

a 2.0 60" time is quite fair for a XR6T. I think only big mick and perhaps Geea have gone 1.9 on street tyres. ( pls correct me if I am mistaken )

Times motor mag out 10/11/04

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I don't believe it one bit unless you can scan the page from the Motor mag to prove me otherwise.

The Typhoon is heavier and has less power the than a Z series HSV and is .5sec quicker? I don't think so!

Well according to DrZ's spreadsheet a Phase II T has over 600n of torque and gets to 100ks in 5.2s so I would not expect a typhoon to touch this.

Phase 1 has 535nm of torque, but more power and no limit in the boost on its revs and it does 5.4 to the 100 and a 13.6 quarter. Given this you'd expect the Phoon to do around 5.5 to the 100 and high 13's especially considering it's a manual.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

As I've said before you cant compare a series 1 T to a F6 whether its modified or not as base torque levels are different and are applyed at different rpm, gearbox clutch and gearbox ratio's are different and the diff ratio has changed from 3.46 to 3.73

I also think those figures are to quick(I hope not :spoton: ) would expect anywhere between 13.3 to 13.7 which would still be very enjoyable

Those times at first glance look too fast. BUT, remember it is not the KW that get you moving. 550NM at 2000 rpm will do it though!. And the "low" rated KW of this motor is due to Ford purposely limiting the motor's potential by restricting boost above 4000rpm. I would actually expect no worse than 5.5 for 100kph and 13.5 for 400m based on my own experience with cars around the same weight and torque output. Now, if Motor got one of those "freak" runs in a "good" car that FPV have given the press for testing, then the figures quoted could be close.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Spot on Jeff.

Most of the guys on this forum haven't been around long enough to understand that it's torque delivery that is one of the main factors, not maximum power or torque, ceterus parabus.

The torque generated by the F6 at much lower revs will make a huge difference.

For others who quote Dr Z torque figures they are wasting our time.
