It sounds like a shifter adjustment/alignment problem. Are you sure they actually fitted a new gearbox? It is funny that two would do the same as it is not a common occurrence with the T5 at all. I'd say they did nothing to the first one and are hoping you'll just go away. Try ringing 13FORD, or if there is another dealer in your area you could try them for help.

its been my experiance that when a box jumps out of gear its usually the dog teeth worn. this being the case the most common cause is crunching into gear?

this said there is absolutly now way that the new box would do the same thing staight of! plainly I would not have picked the car up till it was right!

unless this is only just starting to happen in which case good luck your going to need it!

I would also suggest that you contact 13FORD and change to a different dealer.

That was the only way I was able to get my gearbox issues progressed.

Currently driving with gearbox #3.......

Those guys at 13FORD are useless. I had an issue with my fifth gear syncro, crunching, they didnt want to know about it, told me that I had to use a firction modifier. I told them to :censored::kissmy::censored:

Mine was stock when the syncro went on it!!!!!

With the manuals there is nothing you can to strengthen it......well, nothing that's worth while for the money you would spend.

The only thing that I could suggest, take it easy on the box, dont do burnouts, and learn to slip your cluch (if you race the car) rather then dump it. Slipping the clutch will but more pressure on the clutch, but the clutch is cheaper then a new gearbox.

Alternatively, save some cash and spend 8k at mal woods to get a modified 6 speed (T56).

The gearbox does not know whether the rear wheels are spinning on the road, on a dyno or spinning with the road (driving), it only understands the force that is being applied and it is force over time that kills metal (Fatigue).

If the wheels are spinning effortlessly on the road surface (burnout) there is not a great deal of force travelling into back into the gearbox, remember energy can not be created nor destroyed only transferred. The biggest strain put through a gear box caused by a burnout is when the wheels struggle to spin and start to gain traction.

I conclude that traction is what is killing the T5s.
