exar Member 187 Member For: 20y 11m 26d Posted 02/11/04 12:56 AM Share Posted 02/11/04 12:56 AM Salary Packaged vehicles can work well, but need to be asessed on a case by case basis, depending on what you buy, how much you earn, the distance that you drive each year, and the percentage of business kilometres that you travel.Another factor, related to what you buy, is resale value, as, unless you are keeping the vehicle, at the end of the lease, you will want to trade it in, or sell it, and you need to get at least the residual value, or else you'll be out of pocket.It's even better if it has kept it's value well, because the difference between resale and residual, if positive, goes IN your pocket - a nice little bonus if you can arrange it. Mr X Donating Members 998 Member For: 21y 7m 14d Gender: Male Location: Adelaide Hills Posted 02/11/04 07:49 AM Share Posted 02/11/04 07:49 AM Until Ford come out with the overboost fix (not long to wait I'm told-better not be a moneymaking excercise)Vik is pretty close to the mark imho.Overboost while overtaking is all your worst nightmares come true.How they,ve(Ford) got away with it this long is hard to understand.Basically a good car but if they could press straight doors,fit decent radiators,fit all turbos with premium brakes as standard,get rid of the rattles and squeaks,get rid of manual gearstick buzz,do away with the standard sound system,colour match the bumpers to the body properly,get rid of driveline shunt and fit a properly balanced tailshaft it'd be a whole lot better car.Sounds worse than it is but some or all these things have been experienced by some forum members.Would I buy one now knowing what I know. NO....................................I'd buy an XR8(with many of the same faults) and fit Boss edit for 300 rwkw I'm told.I,m one year into a three year car ownership cycle and I'm stuck with it for now.If Ford fix the overboost I'll be happy to ignore the other faults.
