Are there good Dunlop drag radials and if so how do they compare with other brands? Are they asgood/better than the Nitto's or more similar to an RE55.

Well I think Dunlop are one of the best tyres around, the one's that I use are DZ02G "235/40R18" they grip nicely on the track but the down side it the cost!!! $564

for what its worth, running 275/17" nittos in a manual RWD supra we managed to pull a 1.63 60 foot time with 15 psi in the tyres. Found that 20 psi does not hook that well at all. Also, hooked even better on 13 psi and did not affect top end. the longer the burnout the better they hook around 15 seconds in 2nd seems to work well. Try to reverse back over your burnout too.

After Friday night and having massive trouble getting off the line with any sort of speed I'm looking at investing in a set of street legal drag tyres. If I'm going to fork out $300+ per tyre I'd like to get the best I can and any imput would be great.

I have both 16" and 17" rims to put the tyres on.

After last night I have learned that the 16" tyres hit top gear at around 120mph and the 17" tyres aat around 122mph.

If anyone reading this has a tyre shop I have 3 brand new Dunlop 3000A's that I could put toward a trade.

The brands I know of so far are Mickey Thompson, Nitto and BFGoodrich T/A. What else is out there and which would people recommend.

I'm not fussed on looks or street drivability I just want good 60' times. :spoton:

GEEA if you give peter a call at super plus speed shop in hallam he can help you. He stock's MICKY TOMPSONS and M&H and those TA things as well I think. I worked there part time for about 1 year and he knows what he is talking about. I use mickys on my LC TORANA wich has a 400ci bowtie chev and runs 9.40 over the 1/4 mile, and carries the front left almost to the 60ft mark so I think they work just fine don't you!! :spoton:
