Lots of good info here, thanks guys.

I know the factory 17's are 235/45/17 but what width are the rims in inches??

8.5 in width Craigles.

It'd be good to get the car into top gear earlier so it is driving hard over the line & not shifting into top at the line which would just drop your MPH & give a soft end to your 400m.

Who sells Nitto's in Melbourne?

There is a Nitto 245/45 R17 95V it needs 7.5"-9.0" rims it could be good.

There is a Toyo 235/45ZR17 It needs 7.5"-8.5" rims

and another Toyo 255/40ZR17 It needs 8.5"-10" rims

These would all fit on an 8.5" rim.

I'd look at getting a set of nittos. I've tried the bf goodrich and they didn't stick overly well. fried them throught the first 3 gears. nittos seem to get pretty good 60ft times when well warmed up.

as mentioned, you really don't want to mix cross ply and radial tyres. I did that a few times and keeping it stright at a decent mile involves a lot of lock. I've had the car cross lanes and nearly hit the wall which made me get a set of front runners the very next week.

It would seem that if I'm after 17" and 245 or larger that the Nitto NT 555R 245/45/17's or the Toyo Proxes RA-1 255/40/17's are the go at the moment. Would people agree on this and which of these 2 would be better? Has anyone used both or either and have experience with them?

Also what sort of price would these be?

Just wondering mate, are these going to be left on the car all the time?

If that's the case then you need to consider which are going to last the longest for the amount of grip you are going to get. If those 2 are fairly even in terms of grip, simply go for the one that will last the longest.

Other than that, just get the widest set you can find :P.

How about getting some 10 inch wide rims and sticking some real rubber on the machine mate? like, 295+ :P

you can fit a 15" on the back and tha would be the best thing to do and the McCreary's you can use on the street too you should have much traction problems then

But im a little confused you have 330rwkw right ? why is your mph 122 at the most ? reason I ask is dyno figures are overated and with that sort of power your car should be pulling close to the 130mph I have a feeling your intercooler is letting your car down at around 3/4 track too much heat coming from every where I know how to solve this problem if you want to know give me a call

Cheers

Please tell me what 15" rims go on the back of a BA cuase ive tried three different types of wheels with no luck they hit on the brake callipers. I have a pair of Micky T's that I would love to throw on the T..

As for street race tyres I have always used street McCreary's...
