Guest xspsi Guests Posted 30/10/04 12:23 PM Share Posted 30/10/04 12:23 PM I'd look at getting a set of nittos. I've tried the bf goodrich and they didn't stick overly well. fried them throught the first 3 gears. nittos seem to get pretty good 60ft times when well warmed up.as mentioned, you really don't want to mix cross ply and radial tyres. I did that a few times and keeping it stright at a decent mile involves a lot of lock. I've had the car cross lanes and nearly hit the wall which made me get a set of front runners the very next week.
turbotrana Member 2,586 Member For: 21y 9m Gender: Male Posted 31/10/04 02:02 AM Share Posted 31/10/04 02:02 AM used Toyo proxies RA-1 on a 500rwhp machine where previous tyres were Yoko A032R. Were a huge improvement. I've got 255/40/17s on another turbo car and seems to be OK, not fully tested. Cost me $390 each

Posted 31/10/04 02:45 AM Author Share Posted 31/10/04 02:45 AM It would seem that if I'm after 17" and 245 or larger that the Nitto NT 555R 245/45/17's or the Toyo Proxes RA-1 255/40/17's are the go at the moment. Would people agree on this and which of these 2 would be better? Has anyone used both or either and have experience with them? Also what sort of price would these be?Geea. Posted 31/10/04 08:50 AM Share Posted 31/10/04 08:50 AM Just wondering mate, are these going to be left on the car all the time?If that's the case then you need to consider which are going to last the longest for the amount of grip you are going to get. If those 2 are fairly even in terms of grip, simply go for the one that will last the longest. Other than that, just get the widest set you can find .How about getting some 10 inch wide rims and sticking some real rubber on the machine mate? like, 295+
