The Typhoon would have to be the best bang for your bucks out of the cars mentioned.

I guess in a year or so we'll know what the new 6lt HSV motor is all about and how reliable it is, so presuming it is OK then it would be next on the list.

A GT or GT-P would be nice, especially in the colour scheme you mentioned but at it's present power level represents poor value compared to the Darkside. Only for died in the wool die hard Ford fans.  :spoton:

Don't know much about BMWs so can't offer any advice.

So to summarise, if it's a V8 you must have, and if Ford run true to form and let Expensive Daewoo walk all over them in the performance stakes then the HSV will be the one to get.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Disagree. The GT/P is sensational, most of these so called experts and their opinions dont even own one, so the HSV is a few tenths quicker than the Ford down the almighty 400. There is far more to these cars than the golden 400 metre run that gives some people and motoring writers so many orgasms, if you want a drag queen mod an xr6T, if you want a real car, with some real character and that stonking V8 spine tingling roar, consider the GTp Ken. I offer you a drive to dispel all this crap to show you what a boss with some K's on it can do. If your worried about traffic lights spend $5k on Hypnodoc type bolt ons and that will take care of even the new LS2 piston slapper

sh*t your one eyed Rob

The latest dribble fest from Motor conclude their article on the HSV LS2 by claiming that with some practice they reckon they can break into the 4's for the 0-100km. That is farken fast in anybodys language and more than a few tenths over the GT/P. The new LS2 sounds like a great tourqey engine. there is no doubt FPV have their backs against the wall now, the F6 is their saving grace IMO. If l was in the market for a V8 it would be hard to look past the R8.

So you've driven the R8 then to know what it it's like? :ermm:

Piston slapper huh? Been released for the whole of 2 months now (if that), I seriously doubt if anyone knows yet.

I'm sure a Boss with a few km on the clock does get along quite nicely, as would a R8 with nearly 8/10 litre more capacity.

Ken has stated he's not into modding cars, he just wants the "push in the back" when he depresses the accellerator. The R8 has more power and lighter weight so will give a bigger push.

Suggest you drive them all Ken (maybe not worry about the Beemer) and make an educated choice yourself.

There is a reason I'm defending the HSV so rigoursly, it's so Kent will buy one and bugger off to LS1 forum and leave us alone! :crybaby:
