Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I was wondering if anyone knew if the front fog lights on the XR6 are linked to the high beams, or if they can be turned on/off independently?

the XR spot lights operate by a switch on the left side of the dash behind the steering wheel. this switch must be switched on and then the headlights turned on to at least parkers for the spot lights to work. The lights that you talk of on the fairmont ghia's are actually the parkers for this model. have a look in the headlight on a car that hasn't got these lights and you will see a small park globe in the bottom of the headlight, on the fairmont ghia the globe is the lower bumper lights. hope this is of some help. I wish they would start building my XR!!!!

The lower bumper mounted lights on the Ghia are an option across the range except for the XR's (for obvious reasons)

they are listed on the spec sheet as: Auxiliary Lights Kit (Bumper Mounted)

Please don't let Falcons be afflicted by the same electrical problem as bloody VX Late model camira drivers...none of them can seem to turn their friggin foglights/driving lights off :angry::angry:

Call me a wa*ker here but I like the "lights on" look. Nothin like standing out in the crowd when you have an XR6 Turbo

lol, I'm not calling people wankers...well yeah I am :P lol j/k

It's just that every person I have spoken to about it can't stand it, some of them really are annoying and can be quite dazzling, and it's totally unnecessary...plus it's a $70 fine, so watch where you've got them on if you insist on putting the things on ;)

Well, I like them because they light up the sides of the road, so I can look for oncoming wildlife! And it means they don't come on and off as I adjust the high beams.

Not sure but I don't think it's a problem here in VIC but I'll check it out
