Vic351,

You gotta get the chip done mate that will improve your mileage :kissmy: and then the shaker :kissmy::kissmy: you won't beleive the difference it will make.

Pretzel,

I have built a water trap into the back of the shaker scoop, as that's where I think it will collect with the ramming effect as you cruise along. And yes you guessed it there's been no rain to test this theory. It will rain one day. I will be putting a rubber seal around the scoop that seals the gap between scoop and the bonnet to keep water off the engine.

At the moment I have still retained the crossover pipe which supplies boost to the engine, the intake piping has been removed. I will eventually change the other pipe aswell. Trying to keep costs down for the moment but I have some ideas that I will work on after I get the shaker sorted.

I agree with you that the crossover is restrictive but so is the intercooler as well

If your running standard boost the original crossover should give you enough.

Most people use the original crossover and a getting some good HP and APS still retain it. If you up the boost levels that's when you see problems arising like I have. Then you start on the merry go round valve springs etc. Depends on what you want to acheive.

Before thew Exede was installed I was lucky to get 560km per tank. After the Exede milage improved to 700km per tank.

sh*t, I must of missed the 100 litre tank option. :spoton:

sorry to keep harping on about the fuel but with a 68 litre tank @7.2lt/100km you should be getting 944km /tank ......if you are getting 700km out of a tank you getting 10.29lt/100km which is very good considering your mods but I still think you are getting a error from the trip computer. when was the last time you reset the av lt/100km.

TBO240 you could be right but it is really quite visible the difference in fuel economy.

Scotty utes have a 80lt tank with a 90lt option, which I did'nt take.

As I said earlier this was the first time the car had been on the open road with the shaker installed. It is 160km from Castlemaine to where I get the car tuned on the other side of Melbourne and the fuel gauge had just decided to move of the full mark. If the car was using 10.29lt/100km I would have thought that the fuel gauge would have moved much more than that. By the time I had got back home after 340+km and 10 dyno runs at full throttle, a couple of detours and quite a few spirited squirts from stop lights with the new found power :spoton: still had well over 1/2 tank of fuel left.

I would really like to try it on a stock T to prove the point for those that seem to think that I'm bullsh :w00t2: ting. When I get the car back I'll do some real world driving tests

I'm only reporting what I have seen so far.

Scotty, Just curious what you are getting with the excede? My stock T usually gets 360-380klm per tank.

Dazza.

I get between 13.5 & 15 L per 100k's & I am quite prepared to run the tank down to the bottom, which explains why twice I've had to have a llittle walk. LMAO

Thank's Guy's for the encouragement.

I've just finished re designing the intake from the shaker to the turbo and man it has produced some extra punch. It breaks traction even in 2nd gear now. Can't floor it 1st like I used to either. It really has alot more snap.

OH I just filled up my car since having the shaker installed last thursday week. I'm getting 36.23 mpg. I'm pretty sure I calculated it right.

591km \ 44lt = 13.43 km/lt

13.43 km * 4.5 = 60.44 km per gallon

60.44 km * .6 = 36.26 mpg

And yes the fuel gauge was showing just under 1/2 tank

And I've driven the car harder than I've ever driven it and that includes all the dyno runs as well. Just love those extra kw 256rwkw @ 8psi :spoton::spoton:
