Guys, need suggestions. Some moron keyed my T today, two doors and a little bit of the quarter. I am half resigned to getting it painted but thought I should try to polish it out first. It is not too deep so I am hoping it might be OK but am not sure what product I should try. I used a cutting compound on my last car but it took the clear off, meaning a respray anyway.

Any suggestions????

Luke.

Luke sorry to hear mate, that really pisses me off when some idiot has got nothing better to do than damage peoples' property  If you find the *beep* tear him a new as*hole.

As for help mate, get a quote from a shop and if it's more than excess get your insurance to pay for it.

You can get it looked at by a "paint doctor", not sure what they are called in VIC but there are afew in sydney and they do a very good job. I had DEEP stone chips all over the bonnet and front bar on my last car, they treated the paint and it was unnoticable afterwards (and that was on a volcainic black A4) I think it cost about $350.

P.S if you have a car toys in vic they can do it!

people like the paint doctor, chipmasters or other such repairers to an excellent job repairing chips, bumps & scratches. there are heaps of them in the yellow pages & most will give you a no obligation opinion on the results they expect, well worth the time to try first I think

Sorry to hear that....

I imagine that when they respray the buff the key out anyway to smooth the surface so you might as well try to see if you can do it first. Is it to the metal?

No, thankfully no metal. I think Glenn has hit it on the head, Scatch X I have used before so will give it a try am tomorrow. arseholes.
