Hi guys. Just upgrading my chip and need some help with anyone who has these products. The Unichip claim a power gain to 280 fw/kw and the Xede however claims 300 fw/kw. Have spoke to both APS and Amberleys who supplies the Xede and they both talk highly about there products.

Just confused what to go for.

Thanks for your say guys.

Regards,

Rob...

There have been a few of these threads Rob, they usually end up in a sh*t fight somewhere around page 2-3.

The chips are very similar. The main difference is the Xede can have 2 maps. The Unichip can have a 2nd ignition map for lower octane fuel I believe. It really comes down to who tunes it more than the chip itself.

I choose the Xede with Amberley tuning it. I couldn't be happier, I also have times to back up my dyno charts. You'll have to come for a drive with me and experience both maps. then the choice will be easy. :kissmy:

Both good products, :kissmy:

There are some more to think about as well. EMS have just released a new one and the TSI is getting very good results showing higher power gains than either the Xede or Unichip. Also soon the new Advantage edit software is getting closer.

I'm waiing just a little longer but what ever you choose you won't be dissapointed.

my 2c worth

I was also very confused about which way to leap ... but I don't think the chip is anywhere near as important as the tuner ...

Better to speak to the tuner's and decide who you think will do a better job ...

I am sure a war will start, but I personally went the APS path and I am having the Unichip fitted in a few weeks :kissmy: then on the way to Phase 2 down the track.

I am sure whatever you do you will enjoy the T even more :)

Cheers, Jason.

I have a xede and it can be mapped by anyone who knows what to do,I think with a unichip u are locked out and have to use a unichip agent.

I have seen them both work and either of them will give u a smile

I agree the tuner is more inportant go with someone that will let you have a little imput and involve you with the tune not take your car away in some back room and return later with the prouduct they want to give to you. That said there are some very good tuners for both chips amberley in melb (xede)and spiro in sydney(unichip)it depends were you are and who you can find.
