It's designed to use a venturi effect to allow heat to radiate up n out when stopped or travelling slowly.

Scotty

I imagine they will achieve a better effect when you're driving. While moving, air rushing over the boonet would create drag, sucking the hot air out and probably help pull cooler air in from under the car.

In terms of looks...........Dunno, but worth a try.

All you need now are some leather straps fastened with buckles to hold the bonnet closed

Not bad. Very professional looking job. Not sure that I would of put as many louvres in myself, maybe half that amount each side. One of the better bonnet venting arrangements I've seen anyway, well done! :blink:

THere is a guy in Melbourne, I'll see what I can find, but you might try the jag club or the hot rod fraternity, as they are the most likely to seek him out down there.

Cost = $255 for bonnet

$110 for louveres

$400 for painting

Result = $priceless

I've got to see 'em long fella........ :glad:

My hotel dial-up is so slow it would take a week for me to see the photos.

A hot inline six and bonnet louvers......RETRO.....and I Like the idea but I gotta see it in the metal.

The laws of thermodynamics and airflow will guarantee the effectiveness.

Take care washing that bonnet now y'hear......... :kissmy:

Are you worried about how much water running down the bonnet gets in the engine bay when it rains or its washed?

Shouldn't be any different to the eleventy billion other cars with vents, scoops and shakers. Shakers are more to be worried about, a mate let another mate wash his XY GT and he got some water in the shaker and into the motor. The motor locked up and bent a rod. :pinch:

personally I would have made the design flow with the lines of the bonet...like an arc...

As a couple of you have mentioned the pattern does not follow the design of the bonnet. If you ever get a chance have a look at the underside of your bonnet without the soundproofing/shielding on it do it.

There are only 3 places where these 6 inch wide vents can fit, 2 are were I've put them & there is one more approximately above the front of your tappet cover.

To put them anywhere else will require you to greatly reduce the integrity of the bonnet & the width of the jig that cuts/moulds all in the one action cannot be altered.

Originally I was planning to have several sets of them, but when the dude looked at it he pointed out that there are restrictions on their placement.

*checks under bonnet* Would it be possible to have them in the arc still but have them getting smaller as they go up....??? so long down near the front end and then shorter towards the windscreen end?????
