where I work has only just changed there lrp pumps over to premium.

I was silly enough to fill up on this new fuel.my car is down on sooooo much power

and feels like its starving of fuel from 4800 to6000 rpm I mean I dont drive at those revs all the time .I am thinking that my car has a gutfull of lrp fuel and my car has detected this and knocked back the timing.Since they cannot drain all the old fuel out of their tanks.so ill wait untill nearly empty and fill up some where else and seee how it goes.

what does everyone think .

Idea,

Leave your car in second gear everywhere you go :nono: and that will result in using about 25lt/100  , then it wont be long  before your tank is empty and you can get some good gear in there. :nono:

Or I can come around and do it for you  NO CHARGE.

Simmo,

You should not notice a huge difference between LRP and Premium (96RON) as LRP is also 96RON. If you have a piggyback ECU that has been tuned to 98RON, you may notice the difference more than with a stock ECU.

If however the petrol station has put ULP in the tank, you will notice a huge difference as it is 91RON.

Best to drive the car sedately as the lowe octane can cause problems, especially if you have a piggyback.

Filling the car with Optimax or 98RON fuel once you hit 1/2 tank will also make things better. :censored:

I know that super used to stuff up catalytic converters real quick, not sure if lead replacement does. Id probably try to drain the tank just to be safe

I very much disagree with the comment about not noticing the difference between 96 and 98 RON fuels.

I am not suggesting my experience is exactly the same as everyone elses, and yet everytime I alternate between BP Ultimate 98 and Caltex Vortex 96, there is a seriously noticeable difference in performance almost the whole way through the rev range. Flat spots, not coming on boost as hard, slower aceleration, less low down torque, not holding boost as well, poor top end in comparison, would be all the ways I would describe the differences.

For my driving out on country HWYs I find I have to alternate my driving style depending on the fuel I have in so I don't get too ambituous trying to overtake some road train I would usually flash past when using BP 98. Annoys the sh*t out of me!
