Guest Guests Posted 11/10/04 01:45 PM Share Posted 11/10/04 01:45 PM Ive said it before when it was cold, today 26deg,the poxy boot wont lift!!!!Used the XY on the week end, opened the boot and nearly ended up on the moon. Please tell me folks ,have I got the wrong gas struts fitted(doesnt allow for the wing maby)My story is,Pop the boot button,"click" but you wouldnt know it was unlocked.Lift the boot up,it feels heavy,3/4 of the way up,you stop lifting it,the kent of a thing just sits there!!!You basically have to lift the thing all the way up,there is no lift what so ever. Are your bombs the same as mine???What I would expect1, click the boot button,CLICK,boot unlocks, but you wouldnt know it is unlocked2,Lift the boot garnish with 2 KPA of pressure for a milli second, and the thing should slowly go all the way to the full open posie.Just like my L300 back door does vik Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/13365-boot-lift/ Share on other sites
aniken I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it Donating Members 4,316 Member For: 22y 4m 28d Gender: Male Location: Sydney, south west Posted 11/10/04 01:58 PM Share Posted 11/10/04 01:58 PM Well, when I do actually go and open the boot (shut up tab) it doesn't go all the way up without a bit of assistance. Need to get it up to a certain point and it will keep going but if you stop before that, it comes chrashing down on yer hands or head. Does not look open. Then lift it 3/4 then it will go the rest.Had to teach the missus how to close with out slaming it.. You only need to drop the lid from about 10-20cm from the bottom to get it to close.. Heaps of people puch it closed like it was a X series falcon and nearly pops the ear drums.... If so, maybe you could fit the GT struts to lighten the effort if one wishes...
