They have a factory BOV, which is a Bosch, one of the better ones you can get at qtr of the price of any aftermarket ones.

I agree the bosch work fine its just that when you start to increase the boost you create more volume and that's when you start to out flow the bosch nothing saying that you cant run 2 though! remember though I come from a racing background where boost is high and so are volumes so to be efective you need big ones not for looks or sound but for function

Hey Macka, I love your shaker!

Looks awesome and very good feedback from other forum members. Other than street-cred, what, if any, benefit would you see in installing the shaker on my Phase 3? In terms of performance/noise/fuel economy etc?

Looking forward to your reply.

Dave

p.s Got any pics of one on a Phantom T?

cicuit, speedway, drift and a little drag. more so my first turbo conversion was in 85 and my first aftermarket ecu was in 89-90 and finally my first performance shop opened jan 89 just to give you some better insight. yes any questions I am glad to answer if I can.

just a note cai into stock boxs unless the dyno fan blows into it dont normally make increases as filter and plubing remain the same. that's what impresses me about the shaker even without the fan or roadspeed induced air it creates more power! although I do believe they are awsome on road or track.

I am also in the market for CAI.

I have decided I would probably want to go with the Shaker, but having said this I still would like pricing on XR8 snorkel CAI and where I can get it done.

Im the type that's no good with cutting and fitting things so it would be good if perhaps someone can direct me where to buy the stuff or someone who is willing to help me out fitting the stuff in.... of course I'll pay for your labour... (provided its not ridiculous :P)...

Im the type that want's everything done neat and professionally, which works and looks great.

I'm not after an APS or Nizpro CAI, If I have to go down that path when and if I decide to take on their stage kits that's when I'll change it if I have to.

Also, does anyone know where I can get an aftermarket BOV for my T? Would be good to know who to speak to and who can install it.

Cheers,

George

George I have the Geea mod which is basically identical to the new typhoon CAI.

All we have done is get the XR8 underheadlight pipe and attach it to the airbox.

Why would you go to the cost of changing your whole airbox when you get the same result with the same under the headlight part but no XR8 airbox. That's the only difference.

Would be happy to do the mod for you, only thing is I am in Melb, it would only cost you a couple of beers.

That would be brilliant....the next step is simply finding a way to get you up here or me down there.... hehehe...

Hi Geea,

With your filter down under the guard what are the chances of the hydraulic lock due to water ingress ?

Cheers

PSI

I'm no expert but I've never seen water down there. If water happened to get in there it would have to get through the filter then travel up the piping into the turbo then trough more piping through the intercooler and then more piping till it gets to the throttle body. I don't think it will happen.

Alot of turbo cars have this sort of mod and I havn't heard of it causing any problems.

Geea. :k24t:
