The diameter of the wheel/tyre combo stays the same.

Guest BA Ghia Guests Posted 27/03/03 08:43 AM Share Posted 27/03/03 08:43 AM Yeah, this mode is DEFINITELY for Police special issue vehicles only....Ever since the EF models, the Police Issue Instrument Clusters had this feature, along with more detailed increments on the speedo.. No other clusters have this feature, (XR, Ghia, Fairlane, XT/Forte/GLi)This mode is used by officers (Highway Patrol) to calibrate their speedo everyday, so as when fining John Q. Public for speeding, the speed on the ticket is as close to 100% correct...The calibration mode is good if you are going to change your rim, and or tyre profile, or changing your diff ratio, without resorting to changing your speedo gear sender, or using speedo signal mods...There is a bit more info on this herehttp://www.fordmods.com/body.php?p=Speedocalc

Would also be a great statement from ford to say that they are aware of state governments stupidity when it come to some speeding fines, and this function can help make sure you dont get cought out.
