Add an APS phase 3 and it would still cost less than a stock LS2.

Posted 10/10/04 08:51 AM Share Posted 10/10/04 08:51 AM ok people look at it this way the new hsv ls2 will eat all the new fords no matter what way you look at it cause it was faster than them before with the ls1 you can go on about the f6 all you want but its going ever going to be a v8 nor beat a ls2ford just needs to pull there finger out and start putting some power into there engines take some weight out of the cars then it will be interestingand even if they do bring a gtho out there is going to be a 373kwatt gts out later this year and I dont think the gtho will beat thatI have to disagree Adam. My car standard never had a problem with standard HSV's. I also doubt that there will be any Holdens I'm going to meet on the street that will beat me either. If you have a look at the LS1 site's drag times anything in the 11's aint on standard street rubber. I don't doubt that a twin turbo LS2 on slicks would flog me, it would beat me easy. Put that same car on street tyres and by the time he gets traction I'm that far away I'll need to send him a postcard. The Expensive Daewoo guys remove interiors and the like chasing that extra 1/100th, whats the point. At a set of lights you can't ask the guy your lining up against to wait whilst slicks are put on and you've removed half the interior.Anytime APS or anyone else wants to run me at Calder with their twin turbos on street tyres I'll be there with bells on. Geea. craig your car is fast for what it is but you wouldnt beat a twin turbo ls1 most of them run slicks cause they have too much power to get traction I ran slicks because I couldnt get traction I will never run my xr6t on street rubber because I cant get traction in this car eitherI ran a 12 flat at 122mph on street tyres with only 280 at the wheels in my gto your time is good but not that good considering the power you have I know of many ls1 with only 240rwkw to 250rwkw that run high to mid 11's on streer rubberI have had both cars I think I know what im talking about more than most people on here just some people are way to one sidedin standard form the ls2 is and will kill the fords there is no if buts or maybesthe xr6t is a great car for the price range but there are many better cars out thereI could give you a list of things my gto did better than an xr6t and vice versaI think some people need to give respect to a car for what it is none of this Expensive Daewoo is ford is cause next to a bmw or audi or so they are both Adam I have just checked the times on the LS1 forum. HERE? is the link, (you might need to be a member. All the times above me are on slick except the one directly above me and he was on drag radials. I don't doubt that there are lots of quicker more powerful Holdens out there than mine. Its just my experience out at Calder and on the street that if they aren't running slicks they can't get traction and if they can't get tration they aren't that quick. Power is no good if you can't utilise it. craig your car is fast for what it is but you wouldnt beat a twin turbo ls1 most of them run slicks cause they have too much power to get tractionThis is my exact point Adam they cant get traction. On the street if you can't get traction you lose. You can't use slicks on the street.I'll run any twinturbo LS1 you like at Calder on street rubber cause they wont get traction and I will. Therefore I'll win. If we run on slicks I wouldn't stand a chance, but that's not what we are discussing. We are discussing the times cars can run on street tyres. I'm confident that if I run a twin turbo LS1 at a set of light around Melbourne that I would comfortably beat it. By the time he gets traction and catches me I'll be easing off cause we'll be going to quick.P.S. Hows your mate going with the centre caps and when you coming down to the club for a drink. Geea.
