well I just did some reasearch out of intrest and apparently the twin turbo aps kit is gonna cost around 15k fitted , not too bad when you consider all the work involved.

now although im a xr6t person, imagine buying a low 20k exec vx 5.7 and add 15k kit on it ...scary !!!

the only problem I see if finding insurance for the beast although aps will be releasing the kit ADR legal

the first thing that comes to mind when reading about a Expensive Daewoo with this much horsepower is reliability.

the old mans VT11 clubsport has 250kw and he has replaced a diff and has had 2 failures in the connection of the gearbox to tailshaft.

297kw ain't 297kw when your parked at the side of the road with the a*se of the car splattered on the road and you waiting for the nrma. :nono:

Why are holden's talked up here?

OK, they are quicker than they were before, but really it's just more of the same - alloy block reliability issues, pushrods and 16 valves. An exhaust and chipped typhoon is always going to beat an exhaust/chip LS2. And twin turbo v8 380rwkw? EXAR6 you have that now, what's the point? Buy a mark 2 xr6t and fit the NIZPRO 1000hp engine - similar level off modification/cost (about $75k). Not that everyone is interested in maximum performance, but just making the point that an LS2 in detuned form as you people carry one still needs more parts and money to match the turbo - pretty simple, fundamental stuff. Compare apples with apples:kissmy:

As for fords v8's, anyone seen the new 5.0 DOHC SVT cobra? This has 313kw's standard (4.6l stroke with bigger bore). I'd like to see some Aussie 5.4's fitted with the bigger bore setup. Provided 73kw increase over 4.6, expect the same or more on the 5.4 (about 6 litres). The 4.6 has the same bore as our 5.4 for those who don't know. As for outright power, the turbo 4.0l's are testimate to fords reluctance to put max performance on the showroom (for political/safety issues), however an aftermarket tuner can unleash a heap of no fuss horsepower and performance through the computer, injectors etc etc

Fact about it is, some people don't like to modify nothing. Which is where those power outputs from stock vehicles mean something in market place.

I would hardly say anyone is talking up the LS2 here and careful about the Alloy block, pushrods and 16 valve jokes. Ford is going back to them also.

Which "new 5.0ltr DOHC Cobra" would this be? The new Cobra is ages away as the base model Mustangs were just released. The current Cobra model on the old shape has had the same engine for the past 2 or so years now.

Sorry if the Ls2 has been covered before.

Just jumped onto hsv site and browsed through the new hsv range.

LS2 Gen IV

297Kw (305 DIN)

530Nm Torque (90% which is available at idle) So that's more than max in xr6T

Claimed 0-100 in 5.2sec for Man and 5.1 for Auto.

I dont know about you guys but I think we have some competition on our hands!

Aidan

that's funny. Should we worry!! We should have been worried a year ago. Expensive Daewoo V8's are kicking everything Ford has to offer now. Thank goodness for the T, I know I don;t have to worry with APS Phase III.

Sorry if I seem harsh in relation to ford but our V8 range doesn't seem to live up to the Dark sides range.

so true

but you cant look at the new hsv and go my t with a phase3 would beat it just think 10k on an ls2 and you get a aps twin tubo kit and there isnt any t's around that could touch that

which is why im looking at selling my car

Yeah, And who the hell is going to insure a LS2 with a aftermarket Twin Turbo kit ?

At least the Fords are straight of the Production line

Im sure shannens would. Who cares about that and whats your point anyway. The Late model camira LS2 whips the A*ss of every ford off the production line anyway!!!

I hate to say but if I was buying a V8 I definaytly wouldn't buy a ford until they picked their act up MKII BOO HOO.....

About the twin turbo kit im sure it will be over 10grand fitted and witht eh chip, I spoke with spiro about this he said that was just for the turbo kit its self nothing else. I reckon it will be more likely to be 13grand once its all together. And I'd hate to know how long the driveline would last with that power also.
