Isher

My car is coming through Gregory's - we won't go near John McGrath for servicing or purchasing. My wife went in to John McGrath to get a quote and they told her:

1) she didn't need the power of the turbo

2) shouldn't she talk this over with her husband

Needless to say Amanda walked.

Don't get fixated on Canberra - try dealers in Cooma, Sydney (only 3 hours drive), Wagga, Southern Highlands. I can also reccomend the Ford dealer in Penrith - got a AUIII Forte for my father in law there for $26500 (took me 3 hours of negotiations) during the pre-BA run out sales.

I got my XR6T at McGraths in woden, went to Gregorys, test drove an NA, called the salesman 3 times but he never called me back.

I waited an extra month to get a 2003 model (ordered in Oct) and when it turned up in January it was a 2002 model. Apparently the factory got ahead of schedule.

They said take this or go back to the end of the line and wait till April, :o McGraths blamed Ford.

Used to live in Cooma and all the people I knew actually got their cars from Tara Ford in Bega!

With my last car (Patrol). Bought in Bega too. It was actually cheaper to take the day off drive down to Bega get the car serviced, have lunch at the beach. Than it was to get the Car serviced in Canberra. :o

Yeah - there seem to be a few XR6T owners in Canberra. I think there are 2 or 3 in the club at the moment.

No Sydney guys have joined the club yet. We got a few NA's, and a couple of BA XR8's... but that's all so far.

Wow. I bought my NA XR6 from John McGraths in Philip (Woden) and the sales guy (Glenn) was excellent -- he freely admitted when he did or did not know something I'd asked and was great about finding out the answer and getting back to me.

I changed my order four or five times before delivery, and each time, the order was faxed back to me for confirmation before submission. The car I'm driving now is exactly what I (eventually) ordered.

Their service dept had serviced my Explorer LTD for 2 years prior to the purchase of the XR6, so they knew me and have given me fantastic service since purchase. So overall, I'm pretty happy with them.

Don't know about Canberra, in Tumut Parktown Auto's are great. I got my first Turbo from Westpoint in Vic due to delivery probs and got my second from Parktown. They supply a number of vehicles to my company and bend over backwards to help us out. Tumut is only a 2 hour drive from Canberra. (When you live in the country 2 hours is nothing.) They currently have a maual Phantom demo. Not sure what they have in stock. No I don't get commision. :(

To add to the above, I shopped everywhere from Sydney to Melbourne. Delivery to you be truck, a couple of hundred. Some Sydney dealers will bring the car to you.

I would be very interested in a Canberra XR event.

How do I find out more about the Dyno day? I would live to compare my XT 5.4 to some Gen 111 numbers that I have seen.

Bazza.

The Sydney Dyno day has already been.. a new one will be happening soon. Check out the events section on the site.
