I asked one of the sales guys what else it had. "Fully loaded" he said. OK, I said to myself, so where are the Premium brakes, the REX/DVD, SATNAV, Momo wheel and gear knob, sunroof etc etc. Is that the Acid Rush car you are talking about Matt? Nice wheels. Yeah I saw the Phantom one a little while ago.And double Yeah to the Acid Rush with the full sick wheels. Only $6,000 worth according to the salesguy there. I was over in Young on the weekend and I was fascinated at the number of XR8's there. Haven't seen one XR8 here yet. When I was at the pub on Saturday night there and I said I wanted an XR6-T, some of the blokes looked at me as if I'd just ordered light beer  I used to live there, so I was expecting that response. Guest Isher Guests Posted 26/03/03 12:53 AM Share Posted 26/03/03 12:53 AM Guys,I'm only new to Canberra and would like a recommendation on a good Ford dealer to negotiate the purchase of my XR6T with.As most people reading this thread would be in or around Canberra, some of you must have purchased your cars from Canberra dealers. So who are the good dealers in Canberra?Who are the ones to avoid? What levels of service (or lack off) have you experienced?Regards, isher Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1331-xrs-in-canberra/page/3/#findComment-14667 Share on other sites

Seriously though, I purchased mine through Gregorys and managed to get an OK price (about $1800 discount) but the salesman was pretty hopeless with product knowledge. Told me there was no such thing as FordInsure amongst other misinformation! Most Ford dealers are not keen to give any discounts because the cars pretty much sell themselves so they are having trouble keeping any stock. Do all your research about the car and the different options available through this website and ford.com.au and then go to the dealer and try and screw them down on price. A mate of mine went to John McGrath at Belconnen and they wouldn't even let him test drive one unless he put a deposit down.A work collegue organised over the phone a test drive from JMG Phillip, of a BA wagon that he was interested in buying. No worries said the sales guy, come out Sunday. Work collegue lives about 80km out of town so it was a decent drive to get there and when he did they told him sorry, can't drive today we're having an invitation only event today, come back some other time, don't let the door hit you on the @r$e on the way out (he didn't really say that last bit I just added that for effect!). Needless to say he never went back.As far as servicing goes, I've only had the 3000km freebie service, a couple of small warranty issues and Herrod suspension fitted there, but they seemed to do an OK job, except for leaving out a bolt in the plastic front undertray. If you take your car for service there talk to one of the service advisor guys, not the woman there as she wouldn't know a spark plug from a spanner. She didn't even know what an XR6 turbo was even though there was one in the showroom not 20ft away from her!Gregorys are also affilliated with the FPV-TCNSW Club (ACT Sub-branch) and meetings are held there on the 1st Thursday of each month. I'm not a member, I went to one of their meetings and decided it wasn't my thing. They have a website - http://act.fpvclub.com/ Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1331-xrs-in-canberra/page/3/#findComment-14669 Share on other sites
