Have you got a delivery date on yours yet Jeff?

The Silhouette one at the motor show apparently turned some heads - I'm assuming you'll go black back to back???

Like I said the clutch is upgraded its a AP racing twin plate clutch and dont you think that motor is allready balanced with Billet rods,Love to see what a Boss edit will do to the F6 :ermm::msm:

Motor only has a balanced crank, and the rods are not billet.

I beg to differ as the distributor that supplyed the rods that are in Rumble(Geea's car) is the sole supplyer to Ford and they are billet rods Joe(xrsex) can confirm this as he is friends with the supplyer

This is 100% TRUE and CORRECT. :msm:

Mate, I build these engines. I have built at least 20 Typhoon engines in the last few weeks. I know for a fact they are not billet. They are the same rods used in the E gas motors. They are thicker than the standard rods but that's it. Same material and same method of casting. The rods are cast and machined in Geelong so how can they come from an outside supplier. The only car I can think of that Ford Aus has used an outside supplier for conrods was the T3 5.6 which used Argo rods.

Its abit of a worry if your supposedly building these motors and you dont even now what your putting in them :nono: as even the ford web site state's that they have RACE BRED HIGH STRENGH CONNECTING RODS,Dont think LPG rods would fall into this catorgies

It says on their website:

High Strength Conrods

The F6 Typhoon is fitted with race-bred high-strength connecting rods to handle the extra power from the F6 270 Turbo engine

It does not say Billet.

So it would be interesting to know the capability of these rods. Seems my idea of using the base engine from the F6 to replace mine has fallen on its arse

The description that Ford use for the F6 conrods is just marketing hype. Why would they go to all the trouble and expense of billet rods for 270kw when there is no need?

I've heard that the LPG conrods are considerably cheaper than regular rods when buying them as a spare part, perhaps MS700 or Turbo6man can double check this.

I am sticking with what I have said since I just made a phone call and confirmed it from the source. He has a contract with Ford in the supply of the Rods. He also has a contract with rocket industries as well where everyone else can get them including myself. He wont even sell a set to myself. That is how dedicated he is to his contract. :msm:

Jeff, it ain't his fault - the engineers he works with feed him BS all day long 'cos they know he is here on the forums letting us in on the "good news". Mushroom I think is the nickname they have given him :spoton::spoton:
