How about neither? (There's always one, isn't there?). I'm quite happy with getting an NA XR6. I love the look of the car and I know that I'd never really get a chance to drive the Turbo or a V8 properly, so I'm happy not to be tempted. :)

I'd rather spend the money on other stuff than speeding fines or insurance claims if I crash into things!

Amen brother.

:)

The standard model is still one hell of a car. :P Perfect for us that are not rich enough.

Personally, the turbo, it's a ball tearer, why go for a car that they had to take back to the drawing board to make it more powerful than the XR6T? that's the thing, the Barra240-t is capable of just under 300kw if you know the right people to make the modifications for you. :D

Have to agree with ed-au-ba-xr6, the N/A XR6 is a nice car to drive. But for the perks of a novated lease, I'd probably pocket the cash and stick with the N/A. the 182kw is impressive enough. Lets remember it wasn't that long ago that anything over 170kw was considered awsome for a stock factory delivered car.

Would love to see the mods people do especially the Performance shops. Just to see what is capable of our pride and joy's. :D

Call me a dumb skippy bastard... but not much goes past the sound of a V8. At saying that... give the man a XR6T... you've got to love telling your mates... "yeah, I don't mind your car, but I just picked up myself a dual overhead cam 4L 6 with VCT, and a factory Turbo pumping out 240kW!!... oh yeah it's drive by wire too!!!!!"

Have to admit the sound of a V8 is very nice.. but fuel consumption is the major downfall, plus with a 6 like the XR6T with so much power why would you bother! :)

V8's will always sound good, but just wait till everyone can "hear" a turbo XR6 in the street. The sound will be at least as sweet to the "tuned" ear. Running costs are also a factor for those of us doing lots of km's for work. Bang for buck it's gotta be the XR6T IMO :D :D

I have always liked the idea of a V8, the sound, the grunt. But chose a Turbo. I think it is the more civilised car, and is just as quick. Sounds bloody good too.

Five days out of seven my wife will drive it, so she doesn't have to tool around in a 'hot' car unless she feels the urge to let rip. Don't have to pay the fuel bills either unless it's the two days of the week I'm in the seat.
