I am surprised how good they look. Subtle changes particularly with the Typhoon ensures it sticks out from the T. Looks like the GT has different stripes? :spoton:

Still working through all the information from both FPV and HSV.

Off the top of my head they look to have addressed my areas of concern. Having a BOSS specific tune is going to make a huge difference and one I have been advocating since day dot. Made me unpopular but I did call that one very early

The return of the ancillary gauges including the F6 is a move that should have happened earlier than this. Sets the interior apart and although I am still undecided on the application I think it is a good move.

It looks like the Boss engines have redesigned conrods and the other oddity appears to be a clock mounted in the roof of the F6.

There remain some questions on value given HSV move to 19 across the range and leather as standard missing form the GT-P looks like a mistake.

The new stripe package looks great IMO. I agree doesn’t take much to freshen the look up and I am genuinely surprised.

More work to do with the facts and then I will make a more in-depth analysis.

Your right JB the stripes are different, the stripe on the bottom is thicker than the one on the top. Looks heaps better.

The FPV site doesn't seem to be complete with price and options yet.

Funny enough the HSV site is. Even though I have zero intention of buying the Expensive Daewoo product there are some interesting points to be picked up from the HSV spec sheet.

Their product is pretty well speced.

I concentrated on the R8 model because the GT-P picked up 19s for the first time.

There is a lot of equipment in the HSV machine I didn't realise was there.

Standard leather opposed to FPV optional

Standard stitching where as FPV have more detail in that area and more attractive.

Eight way electric adjustment for both front occupants

verses 4 way for driver only in the FPV car.

HSV are stuck with the stupid ski port.

Obviously the engine and new short ratio gearbox is big news on the HSV front

In this particular model options for both suspension and brakes apply which are the 6 piston AP racing off the GTS. The suspension is the carry over Ohlins option

On the wheel front FPV use a full size spare while HSV use a temporary option

An area the HSV cars lack was in inferior brake control systems with the HSV cars picking up a decent ABS system as well as BA and EBD.

The GT-P picks up dual zone climate the R8 has single zone

On the sound front it would appear that the 10 speaker 260watt R8 system trumps the premium GT-p offering. I thought the premium effort had more then 6 speakers?

The body control module settings in the HSV seems to offer more detail and information although for once HSVs net site simply offers far more information about what you are buying.

Price for the R8 is $70990

Price for the GT-P is $70200

Auto for either was not considered.

The idea on each model release is to maintain relation with your opposition or hopefully to redress any short comings. Have FPV done enough in the areas that matter in the critical cross shopping arena?
